I've edited & restructured our teams first thread post here so it can be used as a personal team scorecard. Enjoy.

Well, i went out today after work. With about 20 minutes left of shooting light i had 2 bucks coming my way, the biggest one was probably pushing 140, i was stoked. Anyway, they where eating acorns and slowly working their way toward me. When they got to about the 20 yard mark the wind took a complete 360 degree switch in seconds. The little buck came right under my stand and started sniffing around while the big guy blew off about 10 different times and started stomping his feet. Finally the big one also came right under my stand. With about 10 minutes left of light he nervously walked right into a shooting lane at 13 yards. I was just about at full draw when the small one jumped about three feet and sent the big one running out to 20 yards behind some brush. They both milled around me until after dark then they finally headed up the draw and out of my life. If the wind would not have switched and if that little one would not have jumped my evening probably would have ended with a nice buck. I think that was mother nature's way of saying F*** You buddy.

Mother nature is a cruel bitch. I think we can all relate. Oh the stories that could be told. Did they ever look up at ya or did they just catch the scent. Keep at em man, you'll catch em slippin up & then 'THWACK!'.

Yea mother nature can be a cruel b***h, Season starts tommorow here in nj not sure if im gonna sit or not high of 69 so it should be in the low 50's at sunrise. Might head out jsut because i wont be able to hunt the afternoon due to a baby shower for my girlfriend figures its on opening day:confused0024:

On_Point 09-28-2012 04:22 AM

Hell, I'd get out there to kill a doe just to have it hangin for all the girls to see tomorrow afternoon. Nothing like a fresh deer kill at a baby shower. 8)

yea the little one did that " stick ur nose straight up and sniff thing" alot when he was underneath me, I think he might have seen my arms move when i started drawing, the big one couldnt because he was quartering away and looking away.. I just cant believe they hung around that long even after they smelled me. I am going to let that stand cool off for about a week then i will go back when the wind is right and set my trail cam in there and see if they are still using that draw during daylight or if they skipped the county.

I actually didnt even plan on sitting in that stand, We had a south wind all day and about the time i was getting off work we had a some cloud cover come through and the wind switched out of the north east. The front had just moved out and the wind switched back from the south when those buck were there. Yup thats why i believe mother nature really had it out for me on that hunt. But i consider myself relentless so maybe one of these days i can give her the finger back.

On_Point 09-28-2012 04:53 AM

Relentlessness is what it takes man. Its what sets bowhunters apart from the orange army
