Whats up with our missing 2 members captain???? Have we put in for alternates yet?

One of my camera's just isn't working right at all. Do any of you guys know if like local camera shops can fix these things? My other camera is doing pretty good though. I put it by the one small food plot we put in. The first time I checked it I got the pics of the crabclaw 10 and the piebald doe along with other doe's and fawns, turkey's, and rabbits. I just checked it again on Saturday. I got 140 pictures with hardly any blank ones at all. I got a pic of what looks to be like a pretty nice buck. I didn't post it though because he is walking away from the camera with his head down and it's a dark shot on what looks like a foggy morning (6:22am) It's pretty poor quality. Maybe I will put it on and just let you guys see it. There are alot of pics of some really nice sized doe's. They are really coming into this plot. Since this is the first time I have tried a plot I am really encouraged by what I'm seeing. Just to the right of this plot is a primary scrape area that has been there for years and I know this area is frequented heavily by alot of deer come late October into November. I can't wait!!!!! I also dumped out about 60 pounds of acorns on the edge of the plot. I will probably check the pics again on Saturday.

Leaving tonight after work to go to Green River WMA. Should at least score a doe. I hope.(:

I sent a message about the alternates, so i will let everyone know when i find out..

My season starts in 10 days. This morning it was 37 degrees. If it's even close to that I will be a happy hunter opening day. I can't wait. I will probably knock down a doe pretty quick.

The 21st was the end of team check in. So on the 22nd, I will replace members and fill team 14.

I am basically 9 days and a few hours away until I will be on stand. Besides checking over all my equipment and making sure I have everything ready to go here is what my schedule will be like over that time frame. Target practice Thursday, check camera's on Friday. More target practice on Saturday and Monday. Target practice and check camera's on Next Thursday. Then, I will be in the stand about 6:20 AM, Saturday the 29th!!!!!! I'm not real sure what stand I will be in yet but depending on what I see or don't see on the camera's that may dictate where I sit. I am almost completely satisfied with my new bow. There is one problem that I can't figure out though. Maybe someone can help me out. I have three pins set at 20, 30, and 40 yards. At 20 yards I shoot 4 arrows and they are all in the black. At 30 yards I shoot the same 4 arrows and 2 are good in the black and one shoots just over the black and the other one shoots just under the black. At 40 yards they are all in the black again. I thought it was a fluke so I did this again 4 times. All 4 times the same thing happened. The 2 that I shoot off at 30 aren't the same arrows everytime either and it's not like the first 2 or last two . It's always random. I had a buddy with me and he watched me diligently and I really tried at 30 extra hard after that happened to get them in the black. To no avail. Two would always be either above or below it. Any guesses at what might be going on here?

Checked the cams again today. I guess last week when i checked i got my cards mixed up and didn't switch them in the one cam. So this is from last week befor i moved the camera to the other farm. This guy is lookin a little better!






Lots of does on their from this week after i moved it so hopefully i'll be ok, both farms lookin pretty good!

One week to go for me.....

Didn't get to go on my little trip. It's a two hour drive and the guys I was going to meet decided they were coming back early because one of them killed a doe and didn't want it to spoil. ):

Ok, i got it! The first one on our team to put blood on an arrow.
A few yrs ago i was trying to hunker down in some bushes and whack the first descent doe that came along. One afternoon, right befor i headed out i screwed a brand new muzzy on the end of an arrow and headed out. Just befor dark in the high grass a big fat doe finally appeared (this was about my fourth night trying this). I drew back, she looked, and wham!!! I watched that brand new muzzy sail over her back and create a spectacular light show as it skipped off a rock pile about 10 yrds behind her. Sparks are cool in the twilight!
So my offer, the first deer killed, a slightly used muzzy broadhead. Tips gone, it has no blades and is kinda banana shaped. Other than that its ready to go!!

Well, first blood, that is hard to say. I can't get out there until next Saturday. So, if you all hold off another week it very well could be me drawing first blood. I have a number of opening day kills to my credit.

I have a week to go also.. Im going to try and get my 11yr old his first deer.. Then i can start hunting..

I'll dull the blades and wear this on a necklace. :-)

Ok, guys, I'm having problems changing my avatar. I will work on it and try and get it done. Shooting today at 4. Shooting and checking camera Thursday at 4. I will be in the stand on Saturday no later than 6:20am. Hopefully I will draw "First Blood"!!!!! Good luck to all!!!!!

I shot again on Monday. My shooting problem is solved!!!!! After contemplating how to fix this problem I first tried to shoot. It must have been my form because everything was shooting sweet on Monday.

Saturday is opening day!

Monday is the opener here. Hope i can kick this sick crap by then. Finally broke down and went to the doc yesterday so should be good by then.
Big bow shoot this Saturday, bunch of freinds are comin over for a venison and walleye dinner, shoot some bows and have a few cold ones, always a good time.
Ceck the cams again this weekend and hopefully Monday its game on! Workin on a job thats kind of a far drive right now, hope its done by next week or i may not have time to go after work the first day or so, but i'm sure gonna try!

Shot a dozen arrows tonite and had to quit, was bustin too many knocks!!!! I'm ready!!!!!!!!

Im not sure if i can get out Saturday for are openning day. We have two football games and my daughter has try outs for Softball.

Saturday is opening day....and I am more then ready. Still getting pics of the big 10 and many other good bucks.

Sounds like a sweet vacation Monofthefall!!! And yeah, i'm jealous!!! Opener is Monday here, but think i'm not gonna get out till Tuesday after work.

I have some good news here. My son who was stationed in Afghanistan in the army is home for good. I put him in one of my best morning stands and he whacked his first deer ever. He is hooked for life. Here are a couple pictures. Nice looking doe!!!!!

Got my doe this evening. Going to post it up on the scorecard...

WV opener was today....this morning I was out early but didn't see a deer. Hunted until 10:30am and came home to eat some lunch and watch the WVU game. What a crazy game!?! 70-63 and Geno Smith just about locked up the Heisman trophy today.

But then it was over and I headed back to the stand to try and get a doe. At 4:15 I was getting my gear settled in when a doe and two yearlings passed by in the thick brush. No shot so I watched them until they vanished. At 4:35 I leaned back in my summit ultimate viper and took a nap(it's hard getting adjusted back to day's after working nights). At 5:45 I woke back up and stood up to stretch. As I'm leaning against the tree I see a deer coming. It ended up being 8 deer. One small spike, three yearlings and three good sized does. As they passed by I waited for the last doe and took the shot about six yards from the base of my tree. The rage entered between the shoulder and spine and buried in the brisket. Hit both lungs and the deer pretty much dropped on the spot and spun about three circles and was dead within 12-15 seconds.
