Default drowning set for beaver

i am just starting to trap beaver for the first time. it seems to be fun. i bought a #330 and two #220 conibear traps. i spaypainted them with a anti-rust spray ( some one who has been trapping for years told me to do this) i am expirmenting with drowning rigs. i am using cinderblocks as a trap stake. i figure a beaver can drag it but only so far with the 330 on its body. i am not using bait. whatm should i use for bait?? i am located in southeast north carolina.
