That is a beauty of a buck, DD! I bet that was fun getting it with a teenager. And I hope you get his daddy or uncle in the next little bit! My wife and I will be going out with the smoke pole Saturday, and she has already said that if a big boy comes by, she wants me to shoot it. I would prefer her to, so we shall see what happens. Saturdays are about the only day she can go, though, so I will have plenty of time to log on my own regardless. Good luck, all!

I lost my camera for now, but hopefully I'll get it found and be able to post some more pictures and update some more information.

Went solo this time and ended up tagging out on opening day.

Not the biggest buck I've ever shot but pretty respectable. One of the first sheds I've ever found out there in the Sandhills and crazy that it sure looks like a match for the buck I ended up shooting.

Here's some pictures from my phone.

Only 13 miles on the boots yesterday when it was all said and done.

I'll get it scored and just to be safe take a picture with the head and my rifle in case we don't end up finding my camera.

Found the camera and am getting it mailed to me. My friend sent me a couple of the pictures so I'll post those as well though. He didn't score as well as I would have thought. 149 3/8 after I lose a couple inches because his inside spread was more than his main beams. For this contest I only get 86% for that because it was a mule deer so that will count as 128.5 for the contest.

Here's the scoresheet:

Here's the official contest picture with me and the gun in the picture.

I think this is the picture that ended up coming out the best.

Always tricky taking timed pictures off your backpack. The wind was blowing so hard it blew the camera off my backpack a few times!

Always a chance to do better with Texas whitetail, but this at least gets us started.
