Hey, how many deer can everyone get in their home state? Her in Mn, you can only shoot 1 deer a year, unless you hunt in a management, or intensive harvest area. Management areas you can harvest 2 deer a year, and intensive harvest areas you can get a total of 5.

With a bow we can take 2. One before and one after rifle season or two after rifle season. We also can take one with a rifle. So we can take 3 per year but I know rifle deer do not count for this competition. I have read the rules but one person can't turn in 2 bucks can they?

I’m in region B in MD, here on the eastern shore we can get 12 deer in archery, 12 in muzzleloader season and 12 in firearms season. 2 deer in each season can be a buck, but you have to shoot 2 does before you can shoot the second buck, and you need to purchase a bonus tag for each second buck. Then if you are ambitious enough you can go to region A in Western MD where the regulations are more restrictive, but you can get a couple more deer per season. A few counties around DC and Baltimore are unlimited does. Most of the areas with the high doe number that the regulation are designed to reduce, are on private land, and access is difficult.

Most guys (that hunt more than a few days during firearms season) get 1-5 per year, but I know a couple of guys that shoot 8-12 a year. I usually get a doe or two for the freezer than hunt for a good buck. I have had years where people ask if I can get them a couple and have shot 5-8, but 2-4 is more typical. Most areas where you could really load up are in the suburbs, and are hard to get permission to hunt. I prefer to get away from houses, so I mostly hunt public property. We have some public land with extensive thick cover that holds some really good bucks. They are a little harder to come by do to the added pressure though.
