Alltlk4 checking in. My season starts tommorrow. I am in NW missouri near Maryville, MO. I hunt my wife's family farm and have access to 1500 acres. I get out as much as I can and do most of my hunting from late October through November. I have plenty of trophy animals running around the farm. I plan to check trail cams again as I hunt this weekend as well.

Well, it was great beeing in the stand for the first time this year. Saw one doe at 7:15, but let her walk. I can only shoot 2 deer a year, and decided to give her a pass on opening day. This is the view I had from my stand.
This is straight out in front of me.
This is over my left shoulder. Its corn this year.
This is straight to my left. The doe was standing right in that hole. I dont like heights, so my stand is only about 11' high, so she was no more then 15 yards, and had no idea I was there. It would have been a great photo op, you can see my trail cam in the lower left corner. The flash went off twice while she was there.

All I did today was check the cameras b/c i didn't wanna sit in the rain and risk having the big one come out and then lose the blood trail due to the rain... I was pretty disappointed with the pictures tho b/c there were no shooter bucks this time around, but I guess thats how things go!

I went out for a couple days with no luck. Rained all morning for the first day, had to call it a morning early and that evening the wind was just to much for deer movement. Rain again the next morning so I did not go out. That afternoon looked promising but all I saw were a couple does. Better luck next time.
