Welcome to the team sirtoby! Glad you finally showed up. I think we only have one or two more people to check in.

Right now I am in my workshop getting turkey stuff ready.
The other day I had my blind set up and I was doing a little sewing on it to try and improve it and right now I am paiting my folding chair black.

You're gonna be in a frenzy by May Pope. Good for you. I'm building calls today.

Im fine with you being captain too.
I'll be hunting mostly in the north central part of the state. I may go down south to the south western corner but I'm not sure. You?

When does everybody start hunting? I start April 9th, taking my son for Iowa's youth season. Then I get to take the shotgun out myself starting April 16th. I'll be hunting till May 16th. It's gonna be fun!

Our season actually started down here on Sat. I had to get my boat painted so that messed me up but I will be out there Wed.
I don't mind missing opening day I have to hunt public ground down here. I will hunt here a couple of days before I head up to my lease in Ga. The season starts Mar. 20th up there and it closes May 15th. I'll be there for a while.

My buddy Brad and I took his swamp buggy and headed out to Big Cypress this morning. We hunted about a 1/2 mi. apart and I didn't hear a peep. Brad had a good morning and nearly killed one but unfortunately it came from the direction he had parked the buggy and it spooked when it saw it. That's huntin'. Hopefully we'll have better luck if we get back out next wk. We still had an awesome time and it was great to just get out there and make some noise. Big Cypress is over 550,000 acres so it's a lot of territory to scout and using the buggy to look for tracks is definitely the easiest way to do it. We found some new areas today that looked promising.
