My season opens on April 1st. I've been getting reports from my Dad at the farm. He saw 2 toms strutting in the field edge yesterday afternoon. He also heard a bunch of gobbles this morning.

Its getting close and I'm getting excited!

Sorry I haven't been on much lately. I recently had shoulder surgery and my wife actually had surgery this morning so I've been a bit out of it.

Default 1st couple days of hunting public land.

Went out yesterday and to day on public land.
We got beat up pretty bad, by hunters not the birds.
Yesterday we walked 2 miles to get to our spot, and when we get there we got shined off by someone. Come to find out there are a couple of air boats, just dropping people off all over the river.
Today we stayed more inland, we got on a couple of birds, but then had a hunter move in on us and messed up the hunt.
Those air boats are so loud you can't even here the birds.
I am going back tomorrow, I am hoping the air boats will not be running.
