Been the same the last few yrs Mottz, i sweat it right up till the last minute with the birds, but they somehow seem to show up. Just hope they do it again this yr. Been tough the last couple and this late start to spring is gonna make it eaven harder, but I always say, I aint skilled or lucky, just real bullheaded and persistant!!!

Really wish Gobbling Buck would show up, he's got a hoss of a bird we should have for our team right now!!!

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of communication on my part. Im still waiting for decent weather here in Michigan. I still havent even made it back to my hunting woods yet, and my season starts April 18th! Pray for good weather in mid-Michigan!

Alot of time from here to the 18th kds. The weather will get better. Yesterday here was 40degrees and Saturday is suppose to be 63. Its spring, and the weather hasn't got the memo.:D I'm going to have to check out gobblins bird. You guys struck my curiosity.

I tell ya, sometimes when I call and they gobble from way out but dont seem to want to get any closer, I stop calling. Theres been a few times theyve snuck in out of no where and gobbled 40 yards away.

Well just got back from checkin one of my trail cams and no bird pics!!! But the good news is about 10 yards behind the cam was some fresh tracks and a big spot where it looked like one dusted itself. Also the land owner told me he seen a nice tom a couple days ago by the house and I spotted 2 hens cutting up thru the woods on my way out. So they are there!! Will check again in a few days.

hey team members had a great time out in the woods friday but had the hunt killed by dogs!!!!!!!!!!!! had 5 or six birds gobbling like heck but never came closer than a 100 yrds. I will be out after them in the am hoping next post is a good long story with pictures ...good luck to those who are out hunting like me and for the rest who have to wait ..your time is comming soon and when you are out we are already done so ..it kinda works out .

...oh and btw j76 its 80 here shorts and tee shirt with cold beer in hand ...

Youth season starts Saturday which means DTC Jr gets another chance. I have been seeing several gobblers around but not hearing much gobbling. I checked 2 of my cuddebacks and one of them has 8 jakes on it this week but none of the long beards. Lil Mr. Jake better duck Saturday morning, DTC Jr will be gunning.lol

Wish DTCJr Good luck for me!! That's one lucky little guy to get the opportunity to hunt like he does!!

had a long exciting day in the woods on a perfect mourn for hunting ..i will make this story quick and short as comp is aggravating me today ive typed the long version 3 times and it wont show up!!!!!!!!!! so quick version i blew it big time ...had 3 big gobblers come in at one time and as i tucked in gun to click off safty and shoot gun goes off " i already clicked it off " bang miss over their heads.....turkey fever .

In all my excitement i made a mistake but im man enough to admitt it .

Wow Mud, that BLOWS! :bash: Hope they give ya another chance!! Got the stickers today, will go out in the mail in the a.m. Just got back from checkin my other trail cam, over 300 pics and not a single turkey!! A whole lot has got to happen around here in the next 2 weeks for me to be able to put somethin together. This weather has got to staighten out and warm up real quick!!!

Had a great hunt with taking 2 Osceolas Friday at 9 am, and Saturday at 7:15 am. My camera pooped out on me, but I'm pretty sure all the photos with measurements are okay. I'll try to get everything lined up, and posted tomorrow. Neither bird weighed much at 13#s 13ozs, and 14#s 1oz but second had a 10 3/4" beard, 1 and 1 1/8" spurs, so that's not bad. I'm pretty tired out, because I tagged along with my buddy while he tried to get his first Osceola of the year in his quest for a one year slam. He got that done at 10:30 Sunday, to go along with the 2 Rios he's already put down. I had an absolute ball on this hunt, and I'm very happy to shoot my first Osceolas.

First bird will score 50.5625 and second 56.8125, but camera is shot, so have to figure out how to get the card read onto my computer. It's a good start, but should be able to put down higher scoring birds once I hunt the pigs in Kansas and Iowa. I was just happy to get a couple of Osceolas irregardless of size. My buddys was a real nice 19#er with 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 spurs with a 9" beard.

Jay I have this little black card reader deal i bought for about 8 bucks from wal-mart. You just stick the card in it and it plugs into a usb portIt's pretty quick and simple.

I sent the stickers out in the mail today. I know for some reason they get lost alot in the mail so if you don't get one in the next four or five days let me know cause i have extras and i'll send ya out a new one.

I got all the pictures transferred to photobucket without losing anything, so later tonight will get the birds up. Didn't like one spur shot where my big thumb got in the way, and being I cut the legs off to bring home, still have the spurs attached. Would take another pic, but being my Kodak crap camera went belly up like my last one, I don't have a camera right now.

Don't think it will be a prob Jay! Just post em up so we can get a look at those bad boys and i can get em on the score thread. Sick of lookin at a big ol goose egg for team 10 on the standings!!! I wanna hear some stories too!! We had a Kodak digital, lasted about 3 yrs and puked on us. Got the wife a cannon powershot for christmas and that thing is awsome!! great pics and it's got a killer zoom on it!

Well, I have a 10 day rest, than Kansas 16-17-18 of April. That's going to be a fun hunt with a guy coming from Minnesota to video it. I've got 2 tags to fill there, and hopefully I can get it done in those 3 days or I have to waste time and gas going back to hunt there later.
