Default Bergara Barells

Did anyone happen to catch the Shooting USA episode last night on the Outdoor Channel?.
Twenty minutes of the show was about the Bergara Barells. They showed the mill from where Bergara gets there steel from and how it is made right thru the whole manufacturing process at Bergara. I must say I was quite impressed.

Has anyone ever tried one of the Bergara barrels for the Encore? I wonder how they would compare to the an actual Encore barrel? For $100 less it's definately an interesting option.

I dont have any complaints with mine on my optima elite. Ed Shilen tooled them up and trained their staff. I have a custom 22-250 with a Shilen barrel built many years ago and its a tack driver.

That was a good show. It was interesting how they rifled the barrel. That is pretty neat the way they 'drag' that button through the bore to create the rifling.

I bought a Bargara barrel for my Encore it was loose in the frame I called and was told they would have to fit a barrel to my frame. I don"t want my frame altered for one barrel and not have my original barrels not fit. But I do not know How the fit barrels to the frame. I for one will stick to Encore factory barrels.

Good to know about the Encore barrel. Thanks. That was my "cheap" back up plan, but perhaps I won't even consider it.

They might work fine in your frame you will only know if you try one if it doesn't work. Make sure the shipper will return your money and shipping both ways. Mike Belm swears by Bargara I am not saying anything about the product just my experience with one barrel.
