I suppose we still need to check in, so I will start this thread.

Where is everyone hunting? I expect to have a solid year. I will be hunting 3 new public properties here in Illinois that have never been hunted before. One of these I had to draw in a lottery where my odds were 4% of getting my 1st choice. I've already scouted it twice and have 3 game cams set. I am taking off 3 weeks vacation during November.

On top of this I drew the best public land firearm permit in the state. But I'll only get to usse it if I don't fill my 2 tags during the archery season.

I am here, live and hunt in NY, this year I am taking a 2 week hunting trip going to OH for 2 1/2 days than to KS for 7 days and back to OH for 1 1/2 days. looking foward to a fun year.

Checking in. I live in western WI and I'm a first time bowhunter hunting a nice piece of public land!

Hunting Southeast MN for the full bow season, should get around two to three weeks worth of time in for bow this year. This is our private 150 acres that I will be hunting on.

Hey there. Ill be hunting in Indiana. FIRST time bowhunting so wish me luck. I usually do good with a shotgun, and there are a lot of big bucks around. So Im hoping that I fill my tag during bow season this year.

oo 2 first timers on this team. I bet that makes the rest of you kinda nervous huh. lol

Maybe the rookies will end up better contributors. Last 2 years I passed on everything waiting for a toad and went home empty-handed. Doubt it will happen this year. Will be hunting 3 never before hunted properties and the bucks are conditioned. Last time I hunted one like this I scored a 141" October 17th. The big ones were moving all of October during daylight.

id sure like to get a 141. OR the 187 i got at the house. That would be sweet. good luck

Got rained out of tonight's hunt and looks like will be rained out all day tomorrow too unless this system moves through faster than they are saying!!!!

I have family from Osceola WI, seems like that is fairly close to where you live. Always see alot of deer up there when i visit. Good Luck to you.

Its about an hour away. There are plenty of deer around, but I still need to go scouting!

Finally got some scouting done today. Found a very nice strip of woods (funnel) with a creek running through it, bedding areas around and a corn field about 30 yards behind the tree I will be sitting in, and trails running all over. I'll be sure to stick a couple!

Figured i would post a pic of the deer my cousin just killed yesterday in WI. Man this is getting me excited.

Any team members getting out this weekend? Crazy start here in Illinois with cold blast arriving Friday night. I will pass on opening day saving energy for coldest days Sat/Sun. Could be pretty active.

I will be going out Saturday and maybe Sunday. Hope the mosquitos die off because the creek bottom I'm hunting in is FULL OF THEM!

I will be hunting friday night through sunday as long as I can find roads that aren't flooded to get to my land!!!! Plus the DNR put a new stipulation in our zone that all bucks have to have at least four points on one side, which should make it a little more interesting this year.

what is everyone hunting with this year, and how did you make out last year?

Went out today for a few hours, saw nothing. I'm going back out in a bit.

I also hunted this morning but saw nothing. Heading out for 4 days in LaSalle County. Have to at least earn a buck by taking a doe there. Should not be a problem based on scouting.

ive been seeing does. shot at one the other day but my arrow hit a limb, deflected, and stuck in a tree. So when i went to pull the arrow out of the tree, I found blood on the leaves. It puzzled me for a minute. THEN I remembered I shot a squirrel out of that tree earlier that day :P.......The doe was standing about 8 feet away from that tree. LIMBS are bad. lol

I am hunting the eastern shore of Maryland I have 6 different farms to hunt I will upload some trail cam pics to show you guys, its been kinda slow besides tonight 10/8/2010 i missed a 140 class night point sit my pin for 40 yards because i forgot my range finder and shot a hair over him.. my cell is 410 726 2457 text me if you guys do any good it will make time go by faster when I am on stand.

powellville, I was surprised when I checked out the P&Y/B&C records and saw how many book bucks come from Maryland. Seems to be the top eastern state for big bucks. Seemed like for numbers per square mile it was even higher than Illinois.

Ya there are some good ones around here alot of people are doing qdma around here like all the farms I hunt try not to shoot anything under 125 inches Inless its a scrap buck that is old and is not going to be anything or has just gone down hill. I put some pics of deer I harvested in Maryland the past three years.

i like that 2nd to the end buck. what did it score?

Have to find a new spot now for hunting. Went out to my spot and found a trail cam and a pile of corn 20 feet from my tree.

he grossed 163 but I am not sure about final score... Went out to a piece of public tonight to scout and found some better spots then wut i have on my private places..

Ten Mile Creek Wildlife Area over in Rusk Cty. It was a nice little spot close to home but it made me pretty angry. On the plus side, I got permission to hunt private land that I will have all to myself for bowhunting an hour after I got home :D

After scouting that new piece of land and finding a rub that was 3 feet long, I must say that I am pretty confident in that place!

Trying to resist early season burn out. Just getting out once a week or so until last week of October. Then we will kick into gear.

Sat for 9 hours today, saw NO DEER!. I did actually see 3 bobcats chasing a squirrel but that was it. It gets frustrating, but then again the corn is still up here and they're probably hiding in there.

just got back from a week long business trip up there, green bay and vicinity. saw all the corn still up. is this typical? when they normally harvest up there? it's 90% cut in illinois.
