it scored a whopping 66 6/8! :) it all worked out though, i had surgery yesterday which was going to mess up my hunting anyway.

we don't have a captain yet. doesn't sound like anyone wants it. anyone????

Hey guys! Our season opened Oct. 1, but I've been working in south Texas for the last 2 weeks. I've got about a week or ten days to go. I just started getting buck pics on cams before I left.

Well got some bad hunting news today. It looks like I am going to be working 7 days a week starting tomorrow for at least 8 weeks. I am hoping to get out on some post rut opportunities if possible to post something.

Hey guys
I've been out allot "3-4 times a week", shot a good buck on the 13th of sept, decoyed him in. Came nose to nose with the decoy, nice 150 class 4 pointer. Never new I was there kneeling in the brush, put it behind his shouder on a quartering away shot and the arrow hit right where I wanted it "or so I thought". He ran 60 yds into heavy brush and crashed into a fence.
I left him lay there for a couple hours, came back and he was gone. Blood every where, arrow looked great, and he got into a crp field. I've looked a couple days. I'm sure he's dead as I've never seen him again on camera or glassing. Haven't lost a deer in a long time and it sucks!
Shot a doe last week, she only made it 35 yards. Headed to Iowa in two weeks, and I'm going to be picky. Then my son and I are going up to Manitoba to hunt with friends for a week, that will be a fun time!!

Cool Logo! Finally got home Thursday. Went out 3 times saw 1 deer. Weather has turned back hot. Have several good ones on cam, but don't know how to get them on here! Any tips?

put them on something like photobucket, shutterfly, photos sites like that then copy the url and paste it in your post.

Sorry for being out of touch for the past few weeks, work has taken up more of my time then planned along with my son playing football on weekends. Next weekend his season ends and the 6th of November our 10 and 12 hour shifts are to end. Have a couple of good looking bucks from photos, will be hunting hard November and December I have taken vaction both months. goog luck 5575. i wish i could hunt iowa. that's a lot to pay for a tag though. i'll be hunting wisconsin tomorrow. saw lots of bucks last weekend. had a smallish 8pt 2 yards from my stand. also had 4 other bucks in bow range. couldn't get a shot at the bucks i wanted to shoot and could have shot the bucks i didn't want to shoot. that's the way it goes sometimes.

I got another buck tonight in wisconsin. It's an 8pt, probably scores under 100. nothing huge but i'm happy with him. i actually saw a bigger buck earlier in the morning but couldn't get a shot. this was pretty much my last weekend to bowhunt wisconsin so i'm glad i closed the deal. lots of deer moving around today. i had 4 in bow range (that's totally not normal for me).

anyway, good luck this weekend guys. i'm going to bed. this getting up at 4am, driving to wisconsin, hunting all day, and driving home is getting really tiring!!!

He only went about 50 yards. walked right passed me. i drew when he was about 50 yards away and shot him at 4 yards. walked directly at me, i had to wait until he passed my stand. fun morning!!!

Team Black Friday works for me. Went this morning and saw one of our shooters however, he went in the timber on the other side of the field from me. Later in the morning I stuck a doe for the freezer. Good Hunting to you all.

ok gents, I finally had a chance to sit last night, decided to get a little aggresive and move to a spot along the river on the ground to try to intercept the deer as they filtered through, had the perfect wind...43 deer moved by me, some less than 5 yards away, I was behind a large tree and didn't move a muscle, this guy was the last one, he was hot on the trail of a doe....will have him scored and get him registered next week but thought you may be happy to see him

oh yea! we're happy to see him all right. congrats! that is a real brute. very big bodied deer too. looks like you drilled him too. good work!

Hey Rackluster, it was one of those nights you dream about as a bowhunter, i sneak into the area along the river that I had wanted to get to, clear the leaves and branches on the ground to make sure I can move slightly, I'm about 2 yards back of the field edge, river is about 20 yards behind, I settle in and watch to the north as they begin to pile out of the bush..about 300 yards north...I watch them slowly filter south, one by one they pass me, i have some video of a doe and a 5x5 that are about 15 feet away as they walk by, perfect west north west wind keeps my scent away from the field, I wanted to shoot a giant 4x4 but too many deer around, just as they go by, I look to the north and this big guy is hot on a doe, the does comes by me at 5 yards, he veers west a bit and at 35 yards I grunt to stop him, let the arrow fly, he takes about 10 steps and stands there looking around, I sit back and watch as he tips over....a great night!!!!

so you were on the ground through all of this too. wow! sounds like one hell of a night in the woods. i think i'm going to have to move to manitoba.
