Ok, I got the first post updated. Once we all get checked in I will post up some trail cam pics and we can all share info and gear for the upcoming season. I know I can't wait. :s2:

I was REALLY into the last 3 contests and i was the captain of my team for the last 2....but i didnt kill a buck, so im taking a backseat this year and focosing on hunting. Ill check in plenty though and probably post up some good smack talk :biggrin:

Hey guys! I'm Jim from western PA. I'll be mostly hunting at sportsmen's clubs but I do have access to a small piece of private land that has been known to produce some big deer. This will be my seventh year bowhunting and I'm hoping to get a chance at a deer around 90 inches which would be my largest buck to date.

Below are some recent pictures from the trail camera. The first couple pictures are from a remington ghost camera that I ended up sending back.

Just checked my game cams, for the first time this year, a couple of days ago. I got a picture of an 8 point that my family and I passed on last year. I had pictures of him all last yeaar until he shed his antlers in late February. He has a little better mass and tine length this year, but still has short brows. There are 3 other deer that we were seeing last year that I hope show back up, but so far this 8 is the only one back from last year.

I will be hunting Southern Indiana and Central/Southern Illinois.. Any team name will do for me. I have seen a couple really nice bucks that I will be going after.. Great PIcs Miller.. That is a huge 8

nice pics millertime. i have an 8pt that looks similar to yours. as soon as i can figure out how to resize the pics ill put them on here. i have 3 bucks on cam so far that i wouldnt think twice about shooting it the opportunity presents itself. anyone else seen any decient bucks yet?

I got one good 8pt on cam so far. Got another small 8 that is young, and several small spikes and fork horns. Also got a nuisance bear that keeps investigating my camera. He has moved it on the tree twice but hasn't damaged it yet. I hope to get some hard horn pics of the bigger 8 once he sheds so I can see just how big he is. I am guessing he will go over 120" like the two I have mounted.

here's one that never came in range during the rut last Nov. Public land.

Even from that far that buck looks like a monster. I finally got a couple good bucks on cam today. A very tall 8pt, and a nice 9pt. Both would look good on my wall, and I will post up some pics as soon as we get the decisions made.

Is everyone ok with me being Team Captain? Or does anyone else want that honor?

ken, i say if you want the honor, its all you. no one else seems to want it...

im headin to the farm tomorrow to check the cams. hopefully have a few more good pics. still trying to work those others in if i can ever figure out how to make the size right. when i try to uplaod them it says the file is too large. i never had this problem before so it might take some time for me to get it figured out

Ryan, those are 2 good looking deer. I especially like the brows on that tall narrow 8 pointer. He is a great looking deer. Hopefully we will be able to see your face behind him sometime in the near future.

well its gettin down to the nitty gritty here for me. season starts on the 4th. im really hoping to get an early chance at that wide 8pt. hes been pretty consistent coming in in the evening here lately but who knows. i guess we'll see here in a little over a week

Goodluck on your early opener. Our season doesn't open until the middle of October. But we do have a early doe archery season Sept 13 so the wife and I will be out for that.

I like Next HNI Champions as well. I think its a very fitting name.

I'll put in a vote for Tall Tines....nice looking deer there boys. My season starts Oct. 1st.
