The bucks are running wild in SW Wisconsin & NE Iowa. This past week has been crazy in the shop. Quite a few 150's, a handful of 160's, and a couple 170's brought in during the past week.

My brother decided to hammer my honey hole while I was working up in MI.. lol

He killed his two bucks and missed another.. The one he missed was a super tall buck we have been after. Same one that I set my bow down on a couple weeks back. We have a problem with half racks where I hunt and pretty well shoot them when we have the chance. He shot one small half rack and then seen a big half rack trailing a doe and shot him Turns out that one has simply broke off on one side recently.. He had 10 solid, 13 counting junk on one side. Possible he could have been a 20 pointer with both sides.. Not a huge buck but lots of character.. Too bad really, but congrats to him for a nice buck and trying to help the cause..

Well bad new for today..... The #1 buck on the hitlist was 25yards away from me this morning and I couldn't close the deal.... He was looking at my decoy "Daisy" LOL....

Oh well hopefully tomorrow....

Well gentlemen my season was screwed by turkey hunters. They setup about 90 yards away on the trails that the deer use to come in to my setup. Only had 1 spike come in and he came from the wrong direction. Depending on the weather, I still may archery hunt my rifle season. I have a 13 year old that gets the first crack at any deer anyway.

Anyone still out chasing whitetails? It has been awfully sloooooowwww lately.

I was thinking the same thing. I still have a doe tag, but dont want to use it till the wife gets her buck. She been 15 yards or less to one we call Pistol Peet twice in the last week, She just hasn't been able to drop the string on him.

Still nothing here. Took my boys out for the first day of rifle season. Busted a bunch of thickets up and walked a few miles and only saw 1 deer. I did what the state said and turned up nothing. Those a--holes are full of it. Plenty of deer, you just have to go in after them. HAHA, jokes on me.

Sorry for the rant. I plan on hitting the woods on Friday. Hopefully the same bull doesn't happen this year as what happen a few years ago. I hit a good buck that ran down hill about 50 yards. I could see it when another hunter came up and shot it. He said since he made the kill shot it was his. So hard to hunt archery during rifle season.

Wow! Another island hunter! I thought I was the only one haha. All of my hunting spots are on islands here...

Anyways guys, I'm still after them although I haven't posted. I killed a doe a month ago and have seen a super nice(expect mid to high 120's) buck twice now just last weekend. I will hunt until mid January so it's never too late for me to put something on the ground.

I'm still around guys, just been really busy.. Got back from AZ last weekend.. Had a great elk hunt, beautiful country. Seen lots of elk, had some close calls with monster bulls but in the end I poked a young 5x4 at about 400 yards. Had to bone him out and pack him out of a canyon on foot.. lol Can post pics and tell more story later.. Work has been killing me since I got back in town so I've been a bit short on time.. May still deer hunt a little but my focus will soon turn to predators. On a side note... Someone needs to kill another buck, even a small one to keep us in the lead.. We've held it all season!!!! lol

Ya I guess everyone is done.. I started coyote hunting, shot a nice one just yesterday.. Bout 180 yards shot with the ol' 22-250..

Just found out that I got 1 more day to hunt. I will get to go out on the 15th so we still have a small chance.
