We have a front supposed to move in on Sat. I'm going out on Fri evening to see what is moving.... I know for a fact we have some monsters out there. Unfortunately it has been the little ones coming in lately.... We will see!

I have been out every weekend seeing lots of does and fawns on my food plots but no horns yet. I'll be out this weekend again. Finally starting to cool down here in WI. I took off the whole week of work the 1st week in Nov. for rut so I'll be out there for 9 days straight hunting em! Good luck to everyone else!

was out on Monday evening and had no action until about 30 minutes before dark. I figure what the heck and gave a good 5 second grunt. From up the hill a good buck comes hauling down the hill. It stayed about 70 yards out and in some heavy brush so I never got a good look at him. As night fell, I started climbing down out of the tree. I try to be a little noisy to keep them out of the area, but instead it drew two huge deer in. They stood at about 10 yards the whole time I climbed out. I could barely make out the outline of the deer but I am going to say both buck. Anyway they hung around until I was on the ground gathering up my stuff before the trotted away. I guess they thought a little fight was going on? As I was leaving the area I caught three good bucks sparring in a little field. Not full hard contact, but hard enough to get the blood pumping.

I got one Guys, 18 scoreable points and scored 178 3/8. I'll post it up tomorrow, its been a long day.

I'll post some trail cam pics up tomorrow of some decent bucks I got on camera this last week. One pretty nice 16 pointer that will go 150" or so. I got off all next week of work for the rut. Hopefully I can put a big one down!

All time worst blunder..

Had something to do mid day today. Told myself I'd hunt till 9 am then take off for a few hours before coming back. Roped my bow down about 8:56, it no longer touched the ground and I seen the giant I had been after charging up the ridge. Still not sure what he was running too or from.. But I never roped a bow back up into my tree so fast.. lol He stopped and stood about 3 or 4 yards away almost right under my stand. When I went to draw he bolted..

You know.. I've been 5 minutes too late and 5 minutes too early and a day late and a dollar short etc etc..

But we are talking 20 seconds here..

I'm sick over it... back out I go

Been going out the past few mornings. Pretty slow up till this morning...seen a few nice bucks running. Of course my tag is filled, but I'm behind the camera, so still hope a big one comes in. Good luck everyone still chasing them. Our team could use some more points.

Well I shot a 130 class this morning.... Unfortunately I hit him high.....Right in the no man's land... Below the spine and above the lungs. He ran 50 yards, bedded for 5 min. then got up and started eating acorns!...... Watery blood (all muscle). I followed the trail for about 500 yards and he quit bleeding...Sorry bout that team.

I will be going back out tomorrow evening. Hopefully they will be moving...

Bummer, Good Luck the rest of the season. The only thing that makes you feel better is to have a close encounter with another big one!

heck of a day on Saturday. Day started real slow. My back started to kill me so I sat down. I was down no more then 5 minutes when I looked over my back shoulder and seen a deer. I stood and grabbed the bow. Peeked around the tree to see two standing there. Both doe. I started thinking well maybe they'll bring him in. Got a better look and noticed that they were tiny fawn just out of spots. They ended up passing by and out of the area. Things got quiet for about an hour when I heard grunting coming from the same direction they came from. Realized it was my buddy so I get ready. I look up and see a big doe about 80 yards out. She runs and stops looks back and runs again. Following her was a huge 8 point. I grunted and he looks up but continued to follow her out. Turns out my buddy didn't see those two, he was grunting a huge buck that ran the other direction. We ended the day with one of the greatest moments ever. My son got his first archery doe and she was big.
