To each their own,..we are all hunting for something,....however,..i do understand what you mean,...its not easy for a weekend hunter to pass mediocre bucks and honestly, it shouldnt be about the rack. I am of the opinion that if its what makes you happy,..go for it. In Ks,..you are only allowed 1 buck,...and i cant kill a deer for anyone else.
If i can only have one buck,...its either going to be a good one or a Doe for me,...but,,.. like i said,...to each their own.

I agree to each his own, mainly just venting my frustration, because here, in WV, we are allowed to take up to 3 antlered deer.. 3 total in Archery, 2 in ML, and 2 in Rifle Buck, and 1 in Antlerless Rifle.. Obviously you can't take that many total deer, because the total of bucks knocks out some of those maxes.. But yea, I understand if you get 5 total days to hunt, selection is the last thing on your mind and filling the freezer takes president.. I have no problem with taking enough to keep you through the year, but don't whack a spike with 3 does, sizable larger, standing next to him.. Just IMO.. But really that decision is up to every individual hunter.. Thanks for listening to me vent though..

With seasons like that,.I understand your frustrations. I never have understood why states dont wake up and realize the potential income from a buck management perspective. If the states would take care of the Doe population, the bucks would have a chance to grow.

In Kansas, the State wants to charge a non-resident $77.50 for an antlerless tag,...residents pay $17.50 ,....Yet they want herd reduction in certain areas. I say ,...if a nonresident has paid his $322.50 for a antlered/antlerless tag,..his $72.50 for a license,...just give the hunter an antlerless tag and he will most likely take that Doe.
It wont be long now,...corn is starting to get cut,....silage too. Once they start moving, roadkills will be on the rise.

Sorry guys my computer has been down. That is a very nice buck JNM. I want to thank all you guys for your compliments also. As long as I keep my wife happy she usually doesn't give me too much grief. She loves the meat, and I take out my fair share of does for that. I will be checking my trail cam probably around the 1st, so I should have some nice pics to put up hopefully.

That sucks Shawn.. My lap top is on the fritz as well, but lucky I have a netbook as well so I'm doing fine till I decide to fix mine or just say screw it and not waste my time.. Then I'll just go buy a new one ..

Thanks for your opinions on the score of him, I'd be stoked beyond belief if he reached over 130.. I don't what would happen if he reached the 140s.. hahaha..

I'm thinking I'm gonna put in for an alternative tomorrow, it's been over a week for the original draw date and I sent him a PM on Saturday.. If anyone objects just let me know.. I got a good feeling about this group and the potential we got.. Just sayin', not trying to jinx ourselves, just the bucks we've got posted are some very nice ones..

It seemed like he was an active member on here. I wonder what happened?

Yea, he seemed active.. I've even saw him on thread I was on before the lists got released, but he has been on since 8/16.. Who knows, life happens and I feel bad not being able to give him more time, but I've been seeing where other teams have been requesting people already.. So I don't wanna be left high and dry..

BTW guys, it might just me and being easily amused, but I'm loving clicking on a topic on the main Bow Hunting Board and seeing some topics flooded with the Rack Addict avatars..

We should probably give our missing team member another week as it's summer and he/she may be off on vacation away from computers. Hard to fathom but I took a week off while in the Sylvania Wilderness area in the UP in late July and didn't have internet connectivity all week.
I agree we have a very active team here and this season will be fun sharing our experiences. I'll be back to my property over Labor day so I'm hoping to have a few trail cam pictures to share. For now, here's my favorite so far this season.
