Man, I wish I was seeing even those small 5 points right now.. I went out all day Saturday and I saw nothing during daylight or within bow range.. It's been a slow, very slow start to the season.. Besides my buddy that got the 8-point on opening day, no one around here has been getting anything.. Or seeing much of anything right now.. But hopefully with the rutting kicking in fully now, it will get this deer up and moving more.. Well Good Luck to all and BE SAFE!!

Well this morning we were successful. Unfortunately it was my son not me. He did some rattling and called in a nice 10 point. We scored him up and he would have scored him up at 112". He was a fairly even buck and most of his G-3 was broke off. so actually he would go 107" with that broken tine. Here are some pics. I cut off his hocks and boy do they ever smell ripe. I will be using those as an attractant the next couple weeks unless I nail one sooner which is what I'm really hoping for. He said that buck came in with his nose on the ground. I, of course will be going out in the morning. Check out the nut sack on this buck. His intestines were herniated down into his nut sack and it was about the size of 2 grapefruits.

Congrats to your son on his 10 point. Glad to see someone having some success. I will be heading out in the morning. It is to be good and cold, the deer should be moving real good.

I seen nada in my stand this evening. The only one I seen was on the way back to my truck. Tomorrow morning I will be hunting in the stand my son harvested his 10 point out of. This stand has been our best producer since 99'. We have probably taken over 30 deer out of this stand since 99'. Ten of those being bucks. Good luck and happy hunting to all.

Hey guys, I nailed one this morning. It's not really the buck I was hoping for, but he is an old gray faced deer. I'm guessing he will score right around 110". I will post the pics and story later. Here is a quick pic of him.

Congrats, manofthefall! We are on the board! How about throwing some of that action my way, I need it! I did see a buck this morning but it was nothing I am interested in.

Congrats to you and your son!! We're finally on the board!! Don't forget we need a pic that has you, the deer, and your bow all in the same picture, once we get that and an official scoring I will go ahead and submit everything on the scoreboard.. And it may not have been the one you wanted, but still a deer I'd be ecstatic about.. Congrats!!

Alright! Nice deer. I'm actually posting from my stand, it has been an exciting past few days here. I've seen 8 different bucks in the past 2 days, 3 of which looked pretty good. Unfortunately only the small ones have been close enough. Keep at it, this is the best time of the year!

I saw a 7 today that got a free pass. He was smaller than I'd like and also didn't give me the best of shot opportunities. Hopefully this is the beginning of the chase here.
