Well guys, I was out shed hunting today and ended up bumping into a flock of atleast 30 turkeys. If they stay close to that area I should be able to get in on them during season. Things look good on that property and there was a bunch of sign where I killed my bird last year.

Yeah I've been seein quite a few birds myself. Have a flock of twenty behind the house with a couple toms in the group. Been seein em all winter in the same spot when I was checkin traps on the snowmobile and could drive about 40 yards from them when it was so cold they didnt feel like moving off into the woods. I'm sure my usual farm has a a big number of birds as always too. Only problem is my dad brother and mom all have first season and I don't have it till 3rd season so hopefully they don't educate em to much. Gonna buy another tag for 4th 5th or 6th or multiple once they go on sale here. WCL

I was out at one of my places this week and saw 16 birds in one group....all toms!!!! They will split up and spread out over the next month, but there are still plenty of birds around. I should have 3 tags in IL and 1 tag for IA, so it will be a fun season.

I didn't realize we had another trapper on the team as well. Good to see that, not many of us still around. I was able to trap my first bobcat this year....now if only my coons were actually worth anything.

Anyone remember what our score was last year or how many birds we had? Did everyone tag a bird? Just trying to set a goal for this year.

Think it was 3 birds about 186pts. I didn't tag one unfortunatley. Hope to do it this year but time is limited with school and the way WI runs its seasons so I'll try bmy hardest to make er happen..... You bet, love trapping. We had our best year with the worst prices, haha, owell what can ya do. Theres a pic of my buddies fisher we got this year too that I mounted for him. WCL

Sounds like muskrat prices have still held up decent.
