how do i get it on the post without it being an attachment? i cant seem to figure it out

Host the image on a site like ImageShack or TinyPic, then copy the url they give you after hosting. Click the "Insert Image" button on the Post toolbar, it's the yellow box with the mountains in it. It will prompt you for the image url. Delete what is already in the textbox and paste in your image url. Hit "OK" and you're good to go.
