Well here we are guys. Please check in and let us know how your season is shaping up to be. Also keep checking in, as some drop out, and we may need alternatives. It is very important that we maintain contact, if you are going to be gone for an extended period, please let us know. For those of us who have been doing this for the past few years, you know how frustrating it is to have drop outs. If this is your first year, your team depends on you and you might be the difference we need.
My season so far has been going full force for the past few weeks. Put in 5 new food plots, or at least have cleared and sprayed, getting ready to till and plant as soon as the weather breaks. We have hung over 12 new stands and cleared shooting lanes for 6 new climber locations. I have been shooting bows at least every other night.
So how bout you?

Here and accounted for. I will be Muley/elk hunting in Colorado in a couple of weeks and then our season opener is the first weekend of October.

Lots of deer with the potential of a some decent bucks, but talk is cheap so we will see how the season goes.

But rest assured, I'll be out there several times per week as well as a few other hunts with friends in other parts of the state and one hunt in Louisiana. We have a long season that goes to middle of January or thereabout.

Right here and ready to go all, this is my first year but Ill be around for the whole show. So far I have 3 new mineral licks out and got 4 stands out. I also and cleaning out some lanes for ground blind alternate hunting spots. I just got a cam up on a site and im waitin to see some bucks. Post some picks in the future if I see any nice ones.

I am present and ready. Just leased another property in SE Ohio and have another property in PA with combo field plot-1 acre corn 1/2 acre soybean and 1/2 acre clover/chicory. Below is one of the daily visitors in Pa. The nice thing is I get to hunt Ohio first and if I see one bigger than him I'll take him if not I always have this Pa buck to fall back on. Six out of Ten so far, if we can get the last few to report we'll be in good shape!!

Well ladies here I am. I hunt mn and hunt hard. Our season comes in mid September and goes till jan. I will put in about60-80 sits. I move up to deer camp 1 November and don't come out till I have my antlers. Good luck to all go getem.

Then we have to come up with a captain and then a team name.

I would say the captain should be whoever has been in the competition the most years. This is my first year so thats not me, lol.

Hero. Lmao! You have some pretty low standards man. As far as a team name. I don't care. I am ready for season. Just bought my lone wolf climber yesterday. I use a mathews drenalin and love it. I have two sons that will take up my time during rifle season. Sam is 14 and Jake 12. When the week comes it is back to the bow stand for me. I hung up the rifle years back. During rifle season I bow hunt a state game refuge that is open to archery only. Abou 8000 acres between me and about a dozen others. It is incredable. Down here in farm land I hunt a couple of different farms. Just put in a 3 acre king rye grass plot tonite good luck boys I'm ready to stick em'. Hey how bout that team stick em'?

Stick' em, aint bad, I like it, anyone else got names they like?

Should be good luck. Seasons looking good I have some decent ones on camera but no hogs yet but i have to get my cam back out my dad took it to camp and i havent got it back out Its been 3 weeks but i have been so busy with work (paving and taxi work) i havent had the time to get it back out

Hey guys sorry I'm not checking in till now but I was busy moving into my house at Penn State. Ill be hunting in PA and hopefully upstate NY. Have had the trail cams out since May by my house in PA and been seeing a couple nice bucks and one monster 8. Hung a stand the day before I left for school and saw the big 8 a hundred yards from the stand that night so hopefully thats a good sign.

As far as team name it doesnt matter to me. Looking forward to a great season

I apologize for being the last to show. This is my first yr. in the contest. I sort of forgot when I had to sign in.
I have been studying topo maps for a month now and I have scoped out some inviting looking spots. I have tons of good spots, hopefully one will produce a whopper for the team.
My season starts Sept. 12, I will either be hunting an oak ridge or the edge of a hay field opening day. I need to sit and watch the field a nite or two to see what comes out. I have been waiting for the right wind to watch the field.
The anticipation of opening day is overwhelming.

Definatly looks good to me that we have a whole team checked in!!!

Yea by the way me and my buddy are going up to the state park and wildlife management area to scout next week. Past 5 years and still going there's been a 17 inch spread minimum for bucks taken there, so the deer up in there are huge. Only bad thing is its hard to access and its all mountains. So looks like fun!!!

how about Cutting Edge for a Team Name

Hey team just wondering if everybody has their buck picked out yet? I seen a couple I would love to tag over a month ago.
Friday I'm planning on scouting a bunch more public land.

Talkative bunch. 20 days till the opener.

Well I've got good news and I've got bad news. The good news is yesterday I scouted some public land and seen one nice buck and found some really nice oak ridges. The bad news is I took a job yesterday and I start Monday. We will be working 6 ten hour days for 8 weeks and it is 2hours from home. Well, if I don't have any luck on the Sundays I will get to hunt, hopefully I get laid off around the first of Nov. for the rut.
I am happy to get this job because I have been laid off for about a month now and money is very tight. I think I got like only $5.00 left on my gift cards. I had to dig into them to get arrows and broadheads.
How is the life of the rest of the team? Come on let's all open up a little.

Just got back from Atlanta, man they have some deer down there! It didn't matter what time of the day or what we were doing, we saw deer. I wish I could hunt them but they are in a sub that is in an area that's against the law.
But I picked up some nice furniture and spent some time with family. Now if the bank would just hurry up and close on this new house.......
Next weekend, it's back to getting food plots in and hanging stands.

We are having absolutely amazing weather in southern indiana. It makes me wanna hunt.. We are having lows in the 40's and 50's.. I have been seeing a big 12 with a drop tine :arms: and hopefully will be able to get a shot at him September 15th when the season opens. Its shapening up to be a good one down here.

It never fails they always go nocturnal about a month before the season starts. The buck on the left and by himself is a 3 1/2 yr old and the one next to him is a 2 1/2 yr old. I have 100's of pics of the 2 of them as well as another 2 1/2 which is a nontypical with great promise. I am hoping to get a nice buck in Ohio this year. If I don't then I may try to take the larger of the two 8 pointers in the pics below. I would really like to see him reach 4 1/2 but a neighbor got some pics of him at his salt block which is about 200 yds from my one food plot. He has shown the pics around and now my secret is getting out among the locals. I know some lazy a$$ is going to try to reap a benefit from my hard work and money by trespassing on my grounds to shoot one of these deer I've been trying to give a chance to grow. I'll be waiting for him with camera in hand.

Buck are slim and few for some reason on the upper farm, but saw a bachelor group of a 12, 10, 8, and 6 point down by the other farm. So concentration went to here, i hung two news stands and put out minerals and trail cameras. So hopefully the work pays off.

We decide on a Team Name yet?????????????
