Finnally entered my buck and he scores 172" but they will deduct from that becouse he is a mule deer. Never have understood that, but thats the way it goes. Points are points. Its not like you get to use all the width anyway. That is the only thing with Pope and Young I dont agree with. Try spot and stalk on a mature muley buck and tell me that he should be deducted 25".

Fantastic animal Randy. Congratulations! ! !!

As far as the deduction/multiplier. It's to square it off for everyone. Mule deer are significantly bigger than whitetails and Blacktails are smaller, the multiplier levels the field. It's off of P&Y minimums.

Regardless, it doesn't take away of how fantastic that animal is. Congratulations again. Oh, it comes in at 148" after the multiplier. That would make that a helluva whitetail.

I'd have to check but that 148" might put us into an early lead. Great job on the buck!

Default Congrats Randy

Congratulations again Randy, 172" is an awesome mule deer. You also just put us in 1st place.
Now it's up to the rest of us to keep up the pace. Archery Season comes in Saturday here in PA. Maybe one of us will get lucky.

Good luck guys, go get'em!! I'm already having hunting withdrawals. I'm bumbed that my archery season only lasted three hours. I've hunted for over 30 solid days in our SD three month archery season before for deer like that. I do have a Custer State Park elk tag starting the end of November so I will wait for that.
Get some big ones guys!
