Thats the kind of close calls that I worry about all the time. Ya know dont want to cut of the trigger finger, at least during hunting season!!

Congratulations on the doe. It's always a good confidence booster to take a doe early.
Glad to hear you didn't have to go to the hospital for butchering your deer.

Shane - that would be an exciting evening.

Chad - congrats on the doe, we have had numerous ones that had nothing for blood trails. Seems to be worst earlier in the year and years that they are extremely fat. Glad it was only a close call, that could have been serious!

Sounds like we may have a little snow on Sunday! Unfortunately, I will not be out yet!

Best of luck to everyone out there! Mike

Well, I think I have everything packed again. Leaving at noon tomorrow to head to our lease in Ohio again. Supposed to be a lot cooler this weekend. That should provide a lot more movement. I will be back Monday evening. I will update then.
Good Luck to everyone else this weekend. Shoot Straight!

Default so now my season is going to begin.

Last Friday I took my Mountaineer in to get inspected. Thing failed due to rear brakes, parking brakes and all four ball joints. They wanted over 1200 to fix it. I can do the brakes myself and waste a day doing it. The problem was the ball joints. At the same time, my wife had to travel to DC for work, which is a 3 hour trip each way. So I am trying to talk to her to see what we are going to do. She said wait until I get home. She got back to work at 3:30 and I texted her and asked if she was coming straight home. 4:30 I got a text from her saying that she was going out with her co-workers for a drink. At 6:00 she comes in. The bank is now closed and no plan as to what we are going to do. It took about 20 minutes to come to the conclusion that I was going to do in the first place. Get a small loan to take care of it. To late now. So I had to spend last Saturday taking care of it. To say the least, I wasn't happy at all and now she understands, hopefully!

Congrats on a fine doe.

Good luck in Ohio this weekend Scott!

Ron - that just sucks! - sorry to hear about that, the cost alone is enough to be ticked off about, but then when you have to burn hunting time, it is like rubbing salt in an open wound!

Bob - hope you get to capitalize on some of the cold and snow this weekend!

Best luck to everyone out there - Mike

Yesterday was another crap day. Went out both morning and afternoon and only saw one right at dusk. I couldnt tell it if was a buck or doe because it was so close to darkness. I'll be out monday morning and i'll see how it goes.
