Ryan. Can anyone here make an avatar? |
Sure. After I get off work I'll have some free time... Do you guys wanna use the bone collector logo for part of it or something similar but not exactly the same? I'll work on it when I get off if that's the name we want to run with.
Ryan. |
sounds like a good plan
|
bone mafia is fine

Bone Mafia sounds fine. Pics are all from my farm.

I've never seen deer live in an underground cave like that before. That is amazing footage of them coming and going out of the entrance.;) Sorry I couldn't resist it. Nice pics though, I've never had them eat such a hole out like that, pretty cool

Here it is guys The Bone Mafia Team 24
I can do another one if you guys want me to. Ryan. |
SO are you guys happy with that? I can do another one if you guys are interested, let me know for sure and what are we doing for the team captain? because we're going to have to do something with our MIA's.
let me know what you guys want to do. Ryan. |
hell yea ryan looks sweet! got my vote for avatar and name!
|
Ryan, could post the avatar as NOT an attached thumbnail. My couputer is a POS and all i see is a box with a red x when you post the avatar now. And for some reason it wont let me upload it when i try to use your avatar from your profile. So if you could post it using the insert image icon i would really appriciate it!
|
Nevermind, i got it. Looks good btw.
|
Hahaha. I was hoping you would cause its not on my computer and I'm still at work so. Glad you guys like it. I can do another if you'd like me to to see if we like it better or not?
Ryan. |
I think it looks fine as is Ryan. Now if we could get Josh to change the name of this thread, we'll be good to go.
|
Hey Ryan, I think it looks great too. Thanks for your time on this.
I'll be hanging treestands this weekend. Can't wait. In Missouri you can't hang treestands on public land until after Sept 1. The season here starts Sept 15 and I've scheduled to take the day off. Unfortunately, the treestands will only get 10 days to sit without my traffic. I guess it could be worse. Looks like we have some good trail cam photos here on our team. Good luck guys. -cp |
Good deal. Anyone hear anything from rybo?
Ryan. |
I'm here.
I just don't necessarily get to check everyday. Mostly just a few minutes in the evenings. Avatar looks good. Thought you were taking the captain's role? |
Hey guys sorry I haven't responded in a while. Works been keeping me off here for a while. I like the name and logo!!
|
hey guys, works keeping me busy. I wont be able to check in alot, but I'll be hunting in just a few more weeks.
|
Do you guys want for me to be captain?
Good to hear from you guys. Should be a real good team we have here so. Let's hope for the best. Glad to hear back from you rybo. I might pm you tomorrow. Ryan. |
so whats everyone shooting this year, what is ur bow setup?
|
Well guys I bought my ultimate camo last night. Just waiting for it to come now.... And its killing me hahaha.
Ryan |
First, I would like to nominate, second the nomination, and vote for Ryan (my7point) as team captain. Is that legal? I know he would do an awesome job and is more that capable. How do I know that? Not really sure, but he can type and spell correctly and that's good enough for me. Cast your vote now!
Red, you were asking about set-up. I'm shooting a Hoyt Seven 37 that I bought last Spring. It is still a virgin. I put on a Rip-cord drop-away rest and an Extreme RT-1000 sight. It's a great bow, especially if you have a long draw. Was looking at the bowtechs but couldn't find one with a long enough draw that I liked. I added to my treestand collection by purchasing a Muddy Outdoors treestand and Lone Wolf climbing sticks. Should be a great addition when I want to explore and the climber won't do the trick. Since I usually hike in a mile to hunt I also decided to get a backback frame to haul all my gear. Those cheap straps kill my shoulder! This thing is great and can also be used to carry the pop-up blind if I want to hunt on the ground or bring either of my 2 boys. Now all I need are a few deer to show up. |
my vote goes to ryan as well...well my setup has kinda changed in the past 2 years, i used to have and hunt with a fred bear "lights out" compound, due to shoulder problems that i accumlated in when i was younger from football and wrestling. my last deer kill was last year with the bow, i parted ways and got a crossbow which i like and grateful that ohio allows crossbow during the archery season, and im still getting used to it. its a horton summitt 150, and im shooting golden tip bolts laced with 100 grain slick trick mags. hoping this season is succesful, i passed on alot of deer last year, and hoping to get a shot on a pie-bald buck thatz been on my trail cam.

SOLD! my7ptmonster...we have annointed you captain.
I shoot a 07 Allegiance 29" @ 70#. GT Pro hunter arrows, with feathers & wraps. Thunderhead 125's & a 50 gr weight added to my insert. 465 gr arrow. Hostage pro rest, Viper Sights, all the quieting/dampening stuff. & a carter quickie release. I also shoot a longbow sometimes. It will see a few days action this fall. |
My setup is a Bowtech 101st, 29" @ 60lbs. Easton fmjs with feathers and a wrap with 100 grain slick trick mags, total arrow weight is around 460 grains. It sports a copper john widow maker sight, a limbdriver, and a b stinger stabalizer.
|
Thanks guys. Good to see you guys posting also.
I'm shooting a 2007 hoyt vulcan 72# carbon express maxima hunters with 100 grain g5 strykers on them. Fuse quiver fuse stabalizer viper sight 5 pin got 20 35 45 50 yd pins set. Shoot a fletcher 44 caliper release custom strings custom wraps also... Qad rest. Which I love btw. Shoots about 289 292 fps which is what I wanted it to do so. I'm pretty shy and there's this farm I realllllyyyy want to hunt but I'm too afraid to stop and ask, so what's your guys recomended approach? This spot is an absolute honey hole. Farm sitting down in a draw where people can't spot it where as the other part of the field they can.... And do. Suggestions anyone? Ryan. |
see if maybe u can do some wok around the farm for hunting rights
|
Not too talkative on the weekends are you guys?
Ryan. |
All you can do is ask. They'll either say yes or no.
Good luck |
Well I shot a 30 target 3D course that I helped to setup this weekend. I volunteer at the local sportsmans association that's how that came about. We set it up so to test all the shots we shot the entire course some from the bowhunter stakes but most from the pro stakes. I need to work on judging distances really bad because that became extremely apparent as the day progressed. We had a range finder so I'd guess what I thought it was then range find it. I did pretty well all kill zones maybe 1 liver shot all day. What can I say, foam animals fear me. Hopefully I'll do as good in the woods this year.
I'm going this week to hang my trail camera. Its going to be on very public ground and I'm pretty nervous about it so it will only be out tuesday through thursday on a 3/4 moon that rises late. I'm also going to grow a set tomorrow and stop and ask for my permission. Friday I went to my honey hole where we saw a 140 and a 120 class buck last year and I went to my stand and found a killer looking trail running 15 yards across the mountain and the standard trail running 35 yards away up and down the mountain. I forgot how well concealed that treestand was. I kept saying to my best friend tom. Someone stole it. Its not here. Turns out I was wrong (again). Problem is. I've spotted it 6 times now and haven't seen a single deer. I know there there but my feeling is that since they didn't mow the front field its affecting there patterns drastically. Sorry for the lengthy post but a lot happened this weekend. Ryan. |
Yes sir, this one will do nicely. Looks like a double right main beam. Not sure why the dates are off, but pics are from this past week.

nice buck good luck at gettin him!
|
Wow that's a heck of a deer! We need to get him on the ground for sure. What do you put in the hole for an attractant?
Ryan. |
Im leaving nowish to go ask that lady if I can hunt her property, I'll let you guys know how it goes when I get back.
Has anyone heard from Josh in a while we need to get the name changed in the front. Ryan. |
woooooo hoooooo!!!!!! I got permission to hunt it... It was kinda weird cause I was so nervous I kept studdering and stumbling through what I was trying to say I rehearsed what I was going to say like 40,000 times and I didnt even come close to what I had planned to say. Wow. I'm pretty freaking stoked right now! I hope to be the only one who bowhunts it Ohh man am I ever pumped. now I have to play catchup on scouting it for the October 3rd opener.
Ryan. |
way to go on getting permission. I'd offer her some venison and do small jobs for her to help keep permission. I always go over and drive up and down my neighbors drive when it snows to make her a path to drive in and I also give her some venison, she's always appreciative. A little courtesy goes a long way. anyhow, I got my new arrow rest today, an octane hostage pro. I put it on, paper tuned, and sighted it in the evening. My boys weren't to excited about holding the newpaper so I could shoot through it, but it all worked good. I was shooting a trophy ridge drop zone. I rebuilt it a year and half ago and the stupid thing fell apart again, so I figured I'd try something new. So far so good. I also planted my last food plot tonite. can't wait till they get up good so i can put a camera on them!
