Alright guys, anyone have any objections to the name "Feather Fluffers"? If not, let's go ahead and edit that first post and we'll be well on our way to victory!

Welcome Jason. Where in SD are you from? I grew up in Gillette, WY and made the venture through the black hills a LOT!

Lived on the eastern side of the state most of the time. Actually grew up in a small town within an hour of Sioux Falls (which is where I currently live). Did spend about 4 years living in Pierre, which is in the center of the state but only a little over 2 hours from the black hills, so I've spent a lot of time out there as well...

I actually have an aunt & uncle that live in Gillette, so I'm a little familar with the area. Though it's been a few years since I've been out that way...

I went out shed hunting today and saw alot of birds, alot more that I thought I would see anyway. I didn't find any sheds and I walked over six miles of river bottom.

Justin - at least you got some exercise and saw some birds! Pretty good chuck of land to walk - 6 miles of river bottom - sounds sweet!

I'm probably not going to make it out scouting much since the primary spot I'll be turkey hunting this year is about 2.5 hrs away and with the price of gas - I'll probably just wing it opening weekend... Wouldn't mind finding a place to hunt that's closer for during the week though - we'll see...

Man, I've been seeing birds everywhere!!! I've got turkey fever bad, I've never had it quite like this before. A guy that I work with went down to the lease yesterday and saw 9 mature longbeards and lots of jakes and hens. April 6 can't get here quick enough. I may check it out on my way home from Easter this weekend and see if I can stick a pig and find some birds... we'll see.

Ok, the birds that were behind my parents house moved. I saw them today about a mile to the north of the them in a corn field, all 50 to 60. then I saw 3 toms close to my house. I told my mom that I was going to use my bow this year and I knew i shouldn't have. One hour latter,,,She still was telling me how every bird shot with a bow NEVER gets found...Problem is, I need her to call for me and she said she won't if I am using my bow...I think with some little boy talking, I can get her to call. I am not trying to sound like I need my Moms permission to use my bow, it's just that,,,My Mom is the Best Caller on the face of the Planet earth!!!! Not kidding. She has a gift.

Justin - probably better that you mentioned it now rather than the night before the opener... That way you have some time to try and work her over

What are you guys using for broadheads? Thinking about going to an expandable with nice large blades... Normally for hunting, I just use 100 gr 3 blade muzzys...

I'll be shooting a couple of birds with the new Magnus Bullhead and probably the others with my standard Eastman Silvertip or ST3... they've produced in the past and they're CHEAP!
