I own 240 acres of farm ground in KS. and my family has another 1000 acres or so. There's always a huge flock of turkeys that winter on part of my ground. My best friend lives back there also and his family also has a bunch of great turkey hunting ground that we hunt on. I get two tags for KS., and the chances are very good that I will fill both of them, with long beards!
How many of us have taken turkeys with our bows in the past? In the last two years, I've taken 3 turkeys with my bow. What about you guys?

RE: team 6

So what kind of set up are you going with??? Broadhead,bow,blind,calls,etc.etc.

Howler 02-19-2008 03:12 PM

RE: team 6

We use DB Matrix blinds, no better blinds to use, IMO. My buddy in KS. that I'll be hunting with got one of those real mounted hen decoys last year and we use the pretty boy full strut with real turkey fan, sometimes a jake decoy instead, or two hen decoys, depends on the situation/time of year. We also have been using the gobbler guillitines, but this year will try to bullheads. We gotta get the turkeys with in about 20 yards with those broadheads though, and we also use one of the mech. heads, just in case the turkeys won't work in close to the blind. I use my Mathews Legacy set up at 65#'s. We use a whole array of calls from slates, box calls, and diaphrams.
KS. has an early bow only season that I will go back for, and I will plan a second trip if necassary later in the season.

Hello everyone! :)

I don't think I'll be able to do as much turkey hunting as I though I would this year. :(If you guys could find an "Alt" for me, I would appreciate it. I wouldn't wantto hold you guys back from winning. ;)Maybe I'llbe ableto hunt more next year... Good luck everyone!

I actually live in Colo. but I grew up onthe farm in North Central KS., north of Salina about 45 miles. My wife and I own 240 acres back there and my brother farms it for us. I enjoy going back to help during harvest times and of course to do some hunting every chance I get.

Boss Gobblers is fine with me.

Our archery only season in KS. starts I beleive on the first weekend of April. Last year we got cold weather, and snow, that weekend. We still had action though.
The really nice thing about the early bow season, the ticks aren't out in force then.:)

And as far as building an avatar, count me out. Heck, I've just gotten so that I can add an avatar to my posts![&:]

Sounds good,

On another note, who here is going to try to get one with both a bow and a gun? Because i usually try with a gun first and then go for the bow.

Well I only get 7days and out of that I'll make it 3-4 days(work).Son comes first(gun)Then I'll go after mine with the bow.Now the only birds that count have to be shot with a bow,Correct?
