All right team .... this is my plan , I'm gonna use my Double Bull T5 blind on the edge of a clearing with these Bobble Head maiting pair and feeding hen within 15 yards one off to my left and the other to my right.
Wait for day break and start off with a soft tree yelp followed by a fly down cackle and then use my Hurricane by Quaker Boy for some love sick hen yelps and clucks.
With any luck that old boss tom will come running within bow range and I'll get that shot.

Tomorrow I may go scout the public land I'll be hunting. It depends on how Carie is feeling. Shes doing pretty good today. On my way home I may stop by Bass Pro, since its on the way, and pick up one of those breeding pairs.

Well, I did go check out the public land,( LBJ National Grasslands), Saturday morning. I took my 3yo daughter Lily with me. We saw a large flock on private land but not a thing on the grasslands. We did see a big fat doe that Lily wanted to take home . I think part of the reason we didn't see anything is because Lily made the God awfulest racket with my crow locator call every few minutes. I didn't plan on doing any calling or even bring any calls with me. This was supposed to be a glassing only trip. Well, Lily had seen me going through my vest and I had to explain to her what everything was. When we got ready to leave she insisted we bring the "turkey callers" with us. I had to carry my owl call and a box, she got the crow and a slate. Man what fun!
BTW, Carie is doing well.

If you look real close you can see the remains of a small bird , skill and bones.
