RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Just got home from hunting a little while ago, I had 3 does at 45 yards right at 9:00, they decided to make a right turn into the heavy stuff instead of mosing up the trail into my sights. My buddy kicked up a nice 8 as he was walking out. Damn thing was bedded 50 yards from his stand. By the time we checked our other stands and walk out I was dripping, the temps where almost at 80. So not much movement today. Hope the corn is cut next weekend and then watch out...

RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Southern Buck, Does that count as your buck for this year? Not sure of the rules other than you can not enter but one buck. Here in Texas if the horn is not throught the skin it is antlerless and a antlerless tag goes on the deer. Well bow season is over for me and now its smoke pole season hopefully ill nail the buck I showed yall this go round, good luck every body!! |
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
I finally get to get out this weekend after not hunting since opening day in WI.... but it is doe only and i gotta wear orange.... Hopefully this weather turns around it is just ridiculously warm out.
|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
The forecast is for the temps to get down in the mid 30's Friday night. Saturday should see some more movement. It would bereally good if they are cutting the corn this weekend...
|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Went out Saturday morning and only seen 1 BB, and 4 Doe. The temps here in PA. have been pretty warm, but starting to cool down this weekend. I'll be back out Wed. and Thurs. evening.
|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
We are finally getting some cooler weather here in NC. A cold front is moving thru and should get the deer moving. I saw two 6 pointers cross the road at the entrance to my subdivision this morning on the way to work (I live in a fairly urban area), so I hope that's a good omen. Barring rain, I'll be in a tree before sun up in the morning. Hopefully I'll see something worth shooting and get us on the board.
|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Ya man, I hear yah about the temps cooling off. Hope it get them deer moving more. My buddy and I aregoing out Sat morning. Hoping the corn is getting cut.
|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Finally! Opening morning for me in NY today. Sat until 11:00am this morning. I had 4 different bucks cruise by me. No shooters though. Heading back out in a little bit for the afternoon.

RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
My buddy and I went out this morning. He sees a 6 point just after sunup and I have a fork horn about a half hour later begging to get whacked, 13 yards perfect broadside shot. Well I decided to pass as it was early and things where looking very promising. Anyway my buddy couldn't get a shot off at that 6 point. Well the rest of the morning turned out to be pretty uneventful. I did see a total of 4 does, none close enough to even think about a shot. My buddy took a shotat a doe but missed on the yardage and slid one under her belly. The ggod news is we are seeing deer every timw out so far, the bad news is the corn is still in and we did not see any large bucks today. They are around, just being shy...

RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)

RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
You guys seeing any buck sign yet? Should start picking up and hopefully this weekend will be good without too much rain. I've been seeing a lot of scrapes.

RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Went on a father son hunt this weekend on a MLB ranch here in Texas. MLB are high fence management ranches that start the gun season Oct. 11th and runs through January. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department compiles a list in Oct. and Jan. to take kids on management doe hunts on these ranches. Here is what stepped out on this management doe hunt. Picture was taken off video so it is not the best quality. The kid hunting sure wanted to pull the trigger!

RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Hey Miller, don't fret it none, I didn't have a bow kill last year. Hell I'm still looking for my first buck with a bow. Let a forky walk last weekend in hoping my first would be a nicer buck. We still have alot of bow season left and things are just starting to heat up. WE are heading out tomorrow morning andconfidence is high...

RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Well im headed to portage in about a half an hour for the weekend. Hopefully the deer will be moving with the beginning of the rut coming in. I sure hope it doesn't rain too bad!

RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)

Congrats on the deer man gonna be some good eating, well that puts us on the board!!
|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Messed up, didn't put my bow in the picture, waiting for a ruling from Rob. Maybe we should start a petition to let my buck count. Forgetting my bow in the pic kinda stole my thunder. All I can do is wait for the ruling. You other guys don't forget your bow...
|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
That aint wortha dang[:@]Bow seasons been over for me for about 3 weeks, now its gun season till Jan. 18th or 19th cant remember but anyways maybe he will let you count it sucks if he doesn't.
|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Sorry to let you guys down, but my buck won't be allowed as I forgot to take the picture with my bow. Don't make the same mistake I did. We can still win this thing...
|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Hey guys, checking in with everyone. Things are heating up here in PA finally. The bucks are scraping pretty good, and starting to chase a little bit. I shot a doe last night on my parents farm, with this nasty weather today, the deer really hit the bean field early. I saw 11 doe before 5:30pm and couldn't take it anymore. She was 16yds broadside, Muzzy MX-3 broadhead. Check out the entrance hole. Went about 60 yds and fell over.

|
RE: Offical TeamDeath By Lethal Injection Thread (50)
Hey there guys, sorry it has been so long since I was here, I had alot happenin the past few weeks and to top it all off I had to replace my computer!
It was a "costly" kinda month for me.... But hey great kill and Im with you that the deer should count because we shouldnt have to lie to win right> And Im sure that no one here is doing that, but anyway, great kill and yes...... REMEMBER TO HAVE YOUR BOW IN THE PIC!!!!!! |
RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
Congrats on your deer gentlemen!
|
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
Any reports from the weekend. I'm taking a few days off the end of this week and the start of next week. I'm really starting to see some good activity (scrapes/rubs) around the field that I hunt. Hopefully I'll start seeing some of the older bucks.
|
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
It should be a pretty good weekend with this front coming in, however lets hope this dang rain holds off...
|
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
Not sure if you guys saw the thread in the bowhunting forum or not, but my wife arrowed her first deer this last Sunday, Nov. 2nd. Of course, she shot it out of my stand. It's cool though, I had her set up, and it wasn't a buck I was looking to shoot anyways. Still got my hopes on something a bit bigger. Congrats to her, it's one heck of a way to start!
|
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
Nice buck! Close, if not a PY. Congratulations to your wife. You have your sights high. I have been out several times nothing but young bucks coming by. The rut is close here in the hill country of Texas, should be seeing some mature bucks in the next couple of weeks. Temp is supposed to be 29° in the morning.
|
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
Tell your wife congrats, that is one fine looking animal. (the buck) LOL. I can't even get my wife to look at a dead deer.
|
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
Congrats!!!!
|
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
Thats awesome! I cant wait to get my wife out in the woods..she is very interested and it would be an honor to geta heck of a buck like that!
CONGRATS!!;) |
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
I had my chance Friday morning and couldn't close the deal.:(:(:( Gun season started Saturday, but I can still hunt using my bow. Hopefully I'll get another chance, but the with the clubs in the area running dogs, it's gonna be a challenge. Sorry I couldn't get us on the board.
|
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
There is no apology needed. We are a team and for some reason we are slacking at that. I haven't had much time to get out hunting because of the way my life has been going along with all the curve balls life has been throwing at me I'm surprised I have any time at all!
Gun season starts here in a couple of weeks and I'm not as thrilled as I should be. I usually always have my deer down and in the freezer by now but this year I am running real low on venison. I have a few days coming to me soon and I plan on getting out there everyone of those days...regardless! To the rest of you; Good luck and just keep trying...its way to early to call this one, besides, the fun is only begining! |
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
Not feeling too sorry here. I nearly sealed the deal on a nice 10 point last Friday. Grunted him in to 60 yards, and that was all the closer he would get. I did, however, pass up on another nice 3.5 year old 10 point. I took some pics on my cell phone, but they dont' look that clear. Here is one of the trail cam pics of him. |
RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
Haven't been around much. Still going at it pretty hard in NY. Had a good chance last night at a 120ish 9 pointer that's been taunting me all season. Grunted him in from 150 yards. He came flying into 15 yards. I had a very small window and didn't want to force the shot. The wind swirled and caught his attention. He got kind of freaked out for awhile trying to wind me. Then it switched back in my favor and he seemed to disregard me but still knew something was up. I thought for a second he was going to turn broadside and head towards my lane, but he'd had enough and trotted back from where he came. If I have another 1.5 or 2.5 year old in bowrange I'm going to scream. Just can't seem to close the deal on a big boy.............. YET ;)

RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
I have a question for you guys that live up north and get to bow hunt regularly in the cold. How do you guys dress so that you stay warm in the stand, but don't have on so much on that you can't move to draw your bow. I've never bow hunted past the end of October in North Carolina, but since I'm in this contest (and hate to loose), I'm going to hit it several more times this season. I've got a few places scoped out and should have a good chance at seeing a shooter.

RE: RE:OfficalTeamDeathByLethalInjectionThread(50)
well first off, sry for no being round much..its gun season here in WI and I have been trying to hit it hard!
my hunting seasons have been pretty messed up this yr with money and personal probs. i will be lucky if i get a deer period! im sry guys?:( as to the question from jc395: I have hunted in the late season alot, i love it! the snow and the cold make it a very interesting hunt! i love hunting in the evening when i can see the moon light up the woods from he glow off the snow, itsgreat! but i can only say one thing bout keeping warm; layers! I always dress in a thin layer of clothing if walkin a long distance to a stand because it cuts down on sweating and u cant sit in a stand when ur freezing from inside because of hving sweat so much. when i get to my stand and it gets colder over time, then i add a layer... some people have different styles because of various reasons....this way i know seems like alot of messin around, but if your dressed right from the get go and then bring the right kind of insulated clothing, you dont need to have a suitcase of clothes! i have poor circulation in my body so this works for me even better because it helps me get my muscles movin for a sec or two.... how cold does it get where u hunt? |
