My name is Deborah and I will be Bowhunting inBrown County, Piatt County and Vermillion county all in Central Illinois.
I am looking forward to getting to know where all of us are from and sharing the contest with all of you.

hello all I am Ron, and I am so glad that I am on the monster buck slayers team. I live in PA as well as hunt it. I have passed on a few good bucks last year, so I hope they are still around this year. only 6 more people to go.

Hey everyone, just checking in. I'm an urban deer hunter hunting Greensburg, PA Pittsburgh, PA and Morgantown, WV. Occasionally hunt the family farm, but I've found that the bucks are bigger and greater quantity in the city. I usually fill my tags every year so hopefully I can continue and contribute.

Jeff,
I grew up just south of Greensburg in Scottdale. You probably drive past it when you go to Greensburg up 119. We should have a good team this year. I know that two of our teammates can produce big deer. Last year Tribal got a 160 plus buck and the two years before Lady Forge took monsters.

Hey guys, nice to finally have a place in this contest. This if my first year in, but I hope to contribute. I will be hunting starting Oct 1st in Fulton and Mcdonough Counties in West Central Illinois....home of the big boys, so I hope to lay one out for the team!! I took my best bow buck last year that scored right at 153", but I am humble and hope to only do as well, but have some good prospects for this fall!!!

Don't know about anyone else, but I am pumped up for the fall!!!

Any diehard mathews shooters in the crowd??? I don't hate on anyone else's setup though, dont get me wrong ladies and gents!

by the looks of things, I should be the weak link then. For the past three years I have had to pass on a lot of bucks, due to the fact that I had my son with me and I promised him that he had first shot on any deer that came in. Well this year we are now in different locations so to each his own.

My season's start Oct 4th to Nov 15th in PA and opens again inlateDec.In NYOct 1st till the end of the yearon Long Island we get an extra month on L.I.:)

It looks like we have some very good parts of the country covered so far.

On L.I.we havea lotoflarge bucks but and you know there had to be a but finding a good legal places to hunt is the hardest part. Lots of houses. Our pine barrens are god awful to hunt, scrub oak and pines that are very thick and deer can forage and root for nuts anyplace they like. Finding the keyto whats going on in these woods is the hard part (unless you find a farm to hunt near)and when you do figure things out someone stumbles in on you and blows up your plan so you move and start again.

Now PA is new to me I have a place there since December in the Barnsville area, I can hunt right out the back door which will be nice for a change so I will be learning the whats and where's of PA this season.

Lets start thinking of a team name I would hate to be Team 3 all season. Now if we where Team 1 that would be fine since I think thats where we will be at the end of the season anyway. # 1 :D;)

BTW, we have to choose a captain for our team fellas. I will start by nominating Lady Forge, simply based on the fact thatshe has been on the site the longest.

Honestly doesn't matter to me, just making a suggestion and bringing up the conversation since other teams have been making selections for captains.

I saw a BIG 10 this past week on a farm that I can hunt.........not getting my hopes up....but it got me going for sure!!!


We should post any trail cam pics, or harvest pics, thatwe have from this year...or deer from past seasons that still may be out there!!! Here are a few hopefulls and my buck from last season.....

He is hopefully still running but it was taken a couple years ago....maybe he spread some seed though!







And last but not least...I hope my buddy here left some seed for this fall......

Nice pics good luck this year. If Lady Forge would like to be captain I am game, she is undoubtably capable and has my vote. But I was on her team last year and I know she chases the deer pretty hard so I don't know how much time she will have to be on the forum. I also would have no problem being a capt. although I am sure anyone here on this team would be a fine captain. Let me know but we should probably choose soon. As for a name I will post tonight after work since I am off now!! lol

Thanks Tribal you are correct I spend alot of time Bowhunting and even more time working at managing the Bow Shop, so it dosent leave me near the time on this site as I would like and that I feel would be needed to to be a good Team Captain.
Somy vote for Team Captain is Tribal.

Sounds like we've got a captain!!! Tribal is our man, and by the looks of these pics, I have compared our team to that of the success of the NE Patriots!! I hope I didn't just put a massive jinks on our success......I doubt it. I can't wait to see how this fall unfolds for us all!!

I'm glad everyone liked a couple of my suggestions.....PETA patrol was more justa shot at those that are against our sport, I really like whitetail fanatics, maximum antler and bone freaks the best.

What does everyone think??

I am good with whitetail fanatics ormaximum antler. As for bone freaks, I can hear it how coming from some of the other teams. "Hey boner freaks". That just won't sit well. Tribal, you get my vote.

Hey everyone, sorry it has taken so long, I have been hooked up at work. I am here and ready to go. I have always liked any name with freak in it, so I vote for Bone Freaks or Freak Nasties. Just throwing that out, either way I am happy. I personally like all the names in the top 4.

I will be hunting only in west central Oklahoma, unless something else unplanned happens to come along. The biggest deer that we have taken off of our property was a 184" NT by my cousin and my personal best was a 172" NT. A buddy of mine shot a 196" NT w/8" bases 3 years ago 1/2 mile from my place. I am in no means typing this to brag, I am just letting you all know that we have the genes in my area to producegood deer. I just hope I can help the team out this year.

Looks like we have a good shot if some of you can shoot deer like that, I will be out trying to do my part.

Now, as to comparing us to the NE Pats that should be no problem as long as we don't fall short like they did last season. If I remember right the Giants won it last year.:D
