Too bad about the hot weather Cooter. I can't imagine sitting in a tree in 95 degree heat all day!

I would like to apoligize to all members of the DoD for the vulgar language I used in a earlier post. I don't know what came over me I don't know if for a moment I thought I was an Administrator or what. But whats done is done I hope you can all find it in your hearts to forgive me, Especially our super Administrator Rob/PA Boyer. Rob please forgive me.

Somehow I don't see that as an apology.[:-] Ass is not vulgar, the fact you used $ as noted in red caused the edit. I had a sticky to this fact that noted I will delete all threads using $ or any other symbol to skirt the profanity filter. If it's allow, it's allowed, like ASS. Ex: Your being an ass! What is not allowed is A$$. Get it? And not apology not accepted under the way it was delivered.

Behind every wise saying, there has been much suffered and endured.

I know now that money is the root of all problems, or at least it is here on the official DoD team thread.

On a lighter note, can I get at least asmile for ^ ? Alright fine, fine, I'll stick to hunting.

Seriously though, I see both sides. Cliff didn't curse but perhaps thought that "ass" might be considered a curse word so he used $$ with good intention. Because of that, Rob saw it as an attempt to skirt. Hey so if you're doing 55 in a 55 but think that the speed limit is 45 so you slow down to 45 when you see a cop, have you actually broken the law even though you only broke it in your head?

Everyone understands now, can we get back to our thread please? :D

Hey guys, checking in. Been hunting steady, mornings and night since Sat. Been in the elk and in and round several bucks these past 4 days. Just being patient trying to get a crack at a couple different big whitetails I am targeting. Had one of my big boys out in the daylight for thirty minutes the other day, he just never came close enough for a shot as he fed with a smaller buck and with some elk .. Been filming myself mostly.. and enjoying it.. gets easier everytime I go out... learning a lot and realizing I dont mind filming myself at all.. Iactually am really getting intoit. I'd really love to kill a big buck off the ground with the camera over my shoulder.

Be back after it every evening this week during work then am and pm during the weekend coming up. Hung three new stands over the past weekend that move me in closer totwo different big bucks bedding areas. I've also been hunting out of some man made blinds too...

Still havent seen a big mature bull yet show up on the cow elk in the three different areas I hunted over Labor day..

Good luck to you guys, glad to see a few are out hunting! Rammer those bucks look great, GregH, glad to hear you have some dandies hanging out in your areas. MM my bud with that jennings bow is out on tour, he's the lead singer for a Christian Rock band.. I will get back with you when he gets home! Cooter keep after em, that heat stinks ..we've been SO fortunate here.. coolest labor day I can remember..35 at night here ...and 65 during the day.. Beautiful early archery hunting weather ..it couldnt be better.. Mulie! kill a good one bud! Wishing ya the best on those bulls!

Trout, thanks cuz, see ya soon, give me a shout on the cell

I'll check in soon. guys, I really hope to get a crack at this big 5x5 whiteyI saw this past weekend, have about 30 minutes of video of him from last year but handnt seen him all summer till the other day! Was great to see him back in there..

Peace out.. DOD

Good to hear you are seeing some nice deer and elk. I don't know much about elk, but do the elk and deertolerate eachother when they are feeding for most of the year?Does this only happen in early seasonbefore the rut?

Red, oh yeah, the bucks, bulls, cows, does and even black bears will tolerate each other quite a bit. I've had them all feeding in the same clearcuts on film before.. as far as elk and whitetails go, yeah they really get used to each other and often feed in close proximity usually right at last light though.. Probably my best cover "Sound" to get past a big buck after dark that I need to sneak out on without spooking is simple elk talk/cow calls.. deer are used to elk being noisy and talking like an elk on my way out of stand after dark has saved me many many times from letting a big buck know I am human. As long as he doesnt smell me I can almost always get by. On the flip side, I have had more cow elk screw up a hunt on a big whitetail than any other critter.. they come tromping into feed and usually bump the bucks just enough to keep them out of range.. happens to me at least once or twice a season.. oh well, i guess its a good problem to have.. :)
