Cant get 'em if your not out there....Let us know how you do.
I went out for the first rooster hunt of the year yesterday, dog was hot on a bird that ran out of the cornfield, so I was hot after the dog. I was closing in on the dog, when pop, my foot planted into a badger hole. The foot stuck and my body kept going causing avery obvious "squish" in my knee. I hobled back to the truck and am braced up today. With my usual luck I'm suprised the badger didnt come out of the hole at me too[8D]
9 days unitil I'm off the 31st through the 7th, should be prime time I hope.

Went hunting with a friend from church tonight ...only a few minutes from school and a great area ......the wind was blowing hard ...20+ ....colder than a well diggers butt...sleet and light rain...but hey, I WAS HUNTING!!!!.... Got out to the stand about 4 pm ..... as I peruse the area, I am expecting the deer to come down the hill to my left towards the field and along the bottom of the hill to my right towards the field .... I guessed right...
About 20 minutes into my hunt, I see a deer coming from my right, along the bottom of the hill, right towards me. I notice a nice 8 point rack as I am preparing to draw .. he is walking right at me then turns slightly to the right.....I come to full draw when his head is behind a tree ... he keeps coming .....he is now 8 yardspast my tree and he stops. He looks to the left....looks to his right......looks to his left ...to his rt, lt, rt, looks ahead ... he needs to take one step and I'll have a perfect quartering away shot ......
after 5 minutes of looking here and there, he turns around and trots back the way he came .....it was frustrating and awesome at the same time .....
Here is a pic of the trees and brush he was behind ... his head and neck were sticking out to the left in the clear......
