Hey defenbaugh..,

Are you saying you have a powered parachute you can use to cruise around above your hunting land and spy on the deer??

That is SWEEEET!

defenbaugh 08-27-2008 08:04 PM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

Wow, alot has gone on since last time I've been on. Hey defenbaugh, welcome to this year's winning team bud, we've missed you. So what the hell are we talkin bout banjo's again for? haha Listen, I'm from Alabama yes, and I am guilty of being a redneck time and again yes, and I do go toboth Talladega races every year and throw beads at girls for flashin', but there really aint too many folks down here like the Deliverance boys....not anymore at least haha. I guess the avatar kinda looks like a banjo a little bit, now if we can shoot like them hillbillies from Deliverance, we'll be doin alright! Hey stone, yeah we still got that same Guthrie'son the corner plus4 or 5more of them around town now. They sure got some damn good sauce that's for sure! Was the Struttin' Duck around when you were here?Everybodyhere isgearin up for football season, there's alreadya few slacker students tailgating and it'sonly Wednesday night, haha. We got Louisiana Monroe this week, hope to have a good game. Who's everybody pull for in college ball? Oklahoma looks to have a great team this year, as well as Georgia..........but we got Georgia's number, just you watch and see ;).

SouthernStrut56 08-27-2008 10:21 PM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

Oh yeah I forgot........a Powered Parachute are you effing serious????? That's insane, I would love that. Wal-Mart MUST carry them! ......:eek:haha

I gotta go with hometown Mizzou.

SouthernStrut56 08-27-2008 10:27 PM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

Yeah they are supposed to have a good team this year too. What are y'all ranked preseason?

MO_Bowhnter 08-27-2008 10:31 PM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

6th in the AP polls

SouthernStrut56 08-27-2008 10:46 PM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

Yeah I knew they were up there, they'll be tough for sure. I would put them in a BCS bowl for my preseason bowl predictions. Auburn is 10th I believe, hopefully we can tear through the SEC and end up in the BCS. Off subject here but I was just thinkin a little, are there any good public huntinggrounds around your neck of the woods? A couple of buddies and I are thinkin about takin a trip to Illinois to hunt some public ground, but I'm sure Missouri would be just as good.

MO_Bowhnter 08-28-2008 09:06 AM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

Yea Missouri is full of public ground. It's what I mostly hunt because my family doesn't own any ground since I'm the first big hunter. I have a few private spots around my house but down here at school its all public.

I could host 1 or 2 hunters this year. Bureau County Illinois. Illinois River bottoms and surrounding cropland.

SouthernStrut56 08-28-2008 04:09 PM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

Much appreciated Mercs! If you didn't mind and I wouldn't be imposing, that'd be awesome. My place wouldn't be too exciting for you deer hunting, beautiful riverbottom land that's probably the best around our area, but smaller deer than you're used to seeing. But if you're a turkey hunter, I'd gladly let you come down next spring for a weekend. You'd be guaranteed to seeand hear at least 2 or 3 nice longbeards in April. We're packed full of turkeys. If I can find a weekend free from homework, I would love to make the trip. I'm interested, I'll get back with you, again, that isif you don'tmind.

SouthernStrut56 08-28-2008 07:16 PM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

Hey man I tell you what, my buddy's tryin to buy a canon xl....or something like that, and he's a hell of a deer hunter as well. We'd gladly tote the camera around for you! No joke! I just PM'd you, I'll get back with you about some dates and see what you think. Thanks again man, you're a great American! ha

Consider it buried southern strut.
No doubt we’d sit over a beer and talk hunting and college football all night long. :)
Good luck at Auburn. I love watch SEC football games, they are some of the best.

Engineering ain’t all bad, I just think Istarted outdown a boring career path and haven't really found something too interesting.

MO_Bowhnter 08-29-2008 11:39 AM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

Strut, I guess I missed it...what kind of engineering are you in? I'm in my final semester of Metallurgical engineering, basically anything and everything that has to do with metals. The very places that Rybo hates (steelmills) is where I'll be working come next year. I happen to love it I guess because I am into the process where he just drug around to get dirty.:D:D

SouthernStrut56 08-29-2008 12:29 PM

RE: Official Team 35 Thread

MO Bow, I'm in Industrial and Systems engineering, which can be a number of things, but basically its managing or overseeingevery single aspect ofoperations and productionin any kind of system, industry or any other. I really hope to find a career in either tool design, safety,or ergonomics, ideallywith an outdoor or hunting supplier. I know a guy that graduated from here in Mech-E a little over a year ago and works for summit tree stands now, I could see myself doing that for sure. Rybo, the beer and football part sounds excellent, and if I'm ever up that way I'll hold you to it!

RE: Official Team Top Pin Predators Thread (35)

Okay guys...I was reviewing the number from last year and we can win this thing. Here are the winning teams numbers...

Team 13............The Dark Horses........Total Inches 866 1/8

148 130Woodman...................88 4/8
198 ArrowDynamics
396 mcouey...........................82
313 16 point.........................141 2/8
100 quiksilver........................110 2/8
224 SouthDakotaHunter..........109 4/8
389 mvisgak
192 gobblergetterNY...............106 5/8
309 Blueranger1......................87 2/8
176 dukemichaels...................140 6/8

They had 10 players and a total score of 866 which means they each shot an average of 87 inches of rack. There biggest 2 bucks were 140 and 141. We ALREADY have a 140 on the boards thanks to TeamHB! Last years winners had 2 shut outs, shot 3 bucks under 90 inches and 5 bucks (half) under 110 inches.

Now I hunt a great area and if I shoot anything under 130 inches it will be on the next to the lat day. I have a serious shot at a 140 or better. If we all hunt hard, factor the wind, stay scent free and shoot straight we can do this.

defenbaugh 09-01-2008 03:23 PM

RE: Official Team Top Pin Predators Thread (35)

I agree but I have a question. do out of state hunts count? like i said were going to texas and i know the farm were going to has a couple big deer.

3stone 09-01-2008 04:50 PM

RE: Official Team Top Pin Predators Thread (35)
