I am sorry to hear about that solo. I have been with a guy that shot a140"buck with his bow with his bow, but there was not blood at all. I know what you feel like, but just practice and get back out there!

Solo, keep at it man. It's tough but I think we've all been there. Go home and practice with your gear on. Spend some time getting your confidence back. Hopefully you see him again.

Friday morning on my hunt, I could smell a dead animal. Sunday, I really needed to do some scouting so I took my kids for a walk and found a ladder stand on part of my walk. Before we left, I was determined to find this smell. Not 5 minutes into looking, I found a small 7 point. Laying right along the trail that led away from that ladder stand. How they didn't find this buck, I'll never know. If they spent any time looking for him coming off that hill, they would have seen him. He wasn't hidden or buried under any brush. He was just laying there.

I would guess they shot him with poor light conditions thinking he was bigger than they thought. When they rolled up on him and saw he was small they turned and walked away.

Dennis, Sorry about your buck. I don't know how the rest of you guys
feel about it but I have always felt the tail tucked in usually meant
a solid hit?

Mahoning, maybe you are right. Again, I am assuming this is where he was shot but I also know of the guy that hunts there and it wouldn't surprise me at all. Such a shame though. I feel like dragging it back up the hill and putting it in front of his spot.

Oldvt, I'm with you. I always thought the same thing.

I did have a good time with the kids and they really enjoyed it. Here are a few pictures.

Here's a few photos from my Friday morning hunt. Unfortunately, I didn't get any good video of the fox. By the time the camera came on and I got it on him, he was running.

I would buy, but I have a setup almost identical to it... sorry.

Well guys its official, i'm heading down to virginia thursday night to hunt some land we lease in a huntclub, it's been very well managed the last 8 years or so, we dont shoot anything under 120" so I stand a decent chance of connecting on a good buck, I can only hope... Its hard cause I dont get down there much to bowhunt, and I'm not always sure where to hunt...

Oh well, wish me luck... I wont be able to let you know my status until sunday..
