Good work Canuck - nice buck.

Good luck with the bruiser there 2Poppa!

Gun season starts here on the 8th of Nov - but i would rather take my buck with the bow - hopefully i will get out this weekend. Sounds like things are heating up pretty good.

2Poppa, that rifle is a Browning 7mm mag. It sure does look like a black powder gun in the picture, though, but it's just shadows cast by the camera flash.

As for story, I spotted an unidentified deer coming out of the treeline about half a mile away on a neighboring farm. I glassed it and it looked like a respectable buck. After crawling along a ditch and wiggling through the grass for half an hour or so, I got to within 200 yards of him. At the shot, he collapsed on the spot.

Those 7mm will certainly put the hurtin' on deer ... sounds like an exciting stalk, Canuck.

Yep, gun season starts here Nov.8th too, Triggertrav.

This week end is a quota hunt on a WMA, close to where I hunt. I'm going to be on the surrounding farm, to see what ispushedoff of the WMA ...waiting with my bow!

There are some Big Ones!

well it looks like we are still missing a couple guys. I am going to put in for alt unless someone knows anything else.

As for a name - the only thing that i came up with is LEADHEAD'S.

My gun season starts on Sat and goes nine days. I will hunt all but three - i need to do some work still.

Good luck all.

tiggertrav, 'Leadheads' suits me just fine.

I took it upon myself to email both OKIEBOWHNTR and AuTiger, both of whom checked in early Sept but haven't been back since. Hopefully they'll respond soon.

I see you requested alternates for the 2 no shows and it seems we've been assigned a couple - good.

Let's see what happens over the next couple days.

AuTiger, good to see you. It sucks having to wait so long for the start of the season, doesn't it?

Welcome to the team, gsclift. From what I know of Oklahoma, you won't likely be hunting out of a tree stand.
