Seeing if the avatar loaded sucessfully, I did see one shooter buck Fri. evening, easily a 120+ eight or ten, couldn't tell if it had G4s through the velvet. Went out scouting today and bumbped some bedding areas so I'll let that area alone until Oct. Just got permission for an additional 80+ acre farm adjacent to my house. Things are looking up.

Anybody shoot any doves on Saturday?
The girlfriend and I both shot limits! Her first dove hunt. I won't comment on how many boxes of shells it took for her...
but she got it done and we had a ball.
I even got a bonus pigeon. Took me 31 shells... more than I would have liked... I had two triple misses... that will kill your average. Also was in one spot that yield some incredibly challenging angles.
Found a couple of sheds from last year while scouting on Thursday... small... but prospects for the future.

I start on September 15. I have a nice buck patterned a little bit. I know where he usually comes into a field at. So probably tomorrow I am going to put a hang on stand on the spot where he comes out. I would have done it sooner but I am waiting for the right wind. Because he beds up close by.
I went dove hunting this past weekend. I didn't get very many. I only got six. But I did shoot every dove that came into range. It is just the area I hunt was not very good. But it was still fun.

My season starts 9-29. I'll be heading up to the lease this weekend to check my little plot. Hopefully the hogs won't find it but I've got a bad feeling about that.
I got to go dove huntin too. went to the San Antonio area. Saturday morning was super for everyone except our group of 8 hunters. Everywhere other than our field of cut milo, it sounded like pocorn in a microwave for about 3 hours straight. I've never heard anything like that in my life! We only killed 8 of the couple dozen that flew over our field. It was pretty bad. That afternoon we managed to get 46 birds, all white-wing. It was the most fun I've had in a while! On Sunday, there weren't many birds flying that were lower than the Ozone layer.

Man I am ready to go. I put up another one of my stands up today. I put it up in a spot where I patterened a buck last year. I saw him everyday last year when I hunted that spot. But he just woundn't cooperate and come closer.[:@] And this year he and a couple of other bucks are using the same trails. So I put a stand up where I should get a pretty close bow shot. So hopefully I can get him this year. So are you guys going to wait for a monster or are you going to shoot the first good buck you see? What are your minimums that you would settle with?
