Booo on the Indians..But I'll root for them now cuz I hate Boston even more!!

I was at a land auction last night andcouldn't hunt..( Jim you'ld kill me if you knew what I turned down..I'm such an AZZ []) But WOW were the deer moving..we took a little spin just prior to dark..and deer were everywhere!

1 had seious potential.. my wife didn't have binos in her car (a sin) so we flew home and grabbed a pair..but by the time we returned it was too dark to make out any type of score estimate..but a big bodied buck that we both "think" was a keeper.

OK what did you pass on, with a pond?

I just got a pm from Canuck on a nice moose he took (rifle) - good to hear from the old gang. I had a nice 9 ptr broadside15 yds away yesterday morning (nice, but not a shooter);and anyway, he was on earn-a-buck landwhere I have yet to take a doe...I am still chasing two monsters, but theydidn't get that way by being stupid , .I am looking forward to the cooler weather .

Jim..No pond but a low-cattail area that could easily have been a pond of roughly 2 acres..I passed on 25.1 acres of cleared field..at $2100 an acre. The whole tract was 124 acres and somepartials went as high as $5600. I knew the tract I wanted and it was right there for the taking. I was the back-up bidder and when the first bidder choose the tract that did have the pond..I could have had the next choice. My choice..ever since we (wife and I) let it slip through our hands we've had, non-buyers remorse. This was a double your money without effort no-brainer!

Live and learn, there will be others just be preparedfor whenitdoes happen.

Hey guys, checking in. I have been out a few times this past week with no luck. I have seen does and fawns and one small buck. I have been having the same problem as everyone else, HOT HOT HOT!!! This morning was the first break we have had since the opener. It started out at 57° but quickly started warming up once the sun came up. I saw one small 6 trying to bump a doe around this morning. He was just a1.5 yr old that was confused and wondering why his hormones are going crazy. I also watched that same doe chase a bobcat out of the food plot. That was pretty cool, that cat didn't want anything to do with momma doe.

Sounds like a few of us have been seeing plenty of deer and good movement. Before too long we'll get on the board and start rolling from there. Well, for me, it's back to work for a week then I will be off for 2 weeks to spend some quality time in the woods. I have a screwed up schedule and if I tried to explain it to you I would just confuse myslef. Hopefully in a week's time the cooler weather will set in and give two weeks of quality stand time. Oh ya, for you guys having the bug problems, try a thermacell. I tell you what, that is the best $25 I have ever spent. As long as the wind doesn't blow too hard, it will keep the skeeters away from you, I don't even get them buzzing in my ear. It is well worth the investment.

Hey guys. I'm back from Maryland. Had a great time. Now it is time to hunt. Tomorrows high suppose to 67, so I'll be out in the morning. I haven't had the oppurtunity for an evening hunt since opening day. I'll let you guys know how things go.

I dunno..good set-ups good pre-planning..man I'm drawing some blanks..nothing but squirrels. I think my neighborhood farms are holding too much corn. I know the deer are there.

Last night at the truck changing clothes for the mile drive home, a deer was in the woods blowing and blowing at me.

Well crud ..The wife just called she's got some running to do and is taking the kids..She asked if I could still go hunting with such short notice...um hello..I got everything in the truck!!

She even said have you tried ..such and such ..place. Heck the way my lucks been running. I'll let her pick my spot! She can't do worse..Plus she's been pretty well trained ..on how and where to see'em!
