Congratulations Ryan, nice buck

ok I am getting really tired of this 85 degree weather here in PA, I havnt even huntedsince Wednesdaybecause its just to hot, I saw 18 deer on opening day 4 of which were bucks, I hunted Mon, Tues, and Wed and saw a combined 7 deer and 1 was a buck, their just not moving in this heat.Is anyone out there doing anything different as far as scent control in this hot weather. I wear an ASAT leafy suit which is about as light weight as you can get and by the time I got to my stand on Wednesday night I was soaked, I literally used about a half a bottle of Scent away when I got in my stand. I hope a cold front comes through soon but according to weather.com it is supposed to be in the mid 80's until Wednesday. Well good luck to everyone and stay safe.

Well im just glad i dont have to worry about it being to hot :D

But i still wont be able to take advantage of this cold weather untill the 12th or 13th. But the weather is still supposed to stay pretty cool untill then so looks like the cold weather is startin to set in for men. Time for me to start gettin the thermal stuff out. I do feel sorry for you guys that are still dealing with 80 degree weather, i have a chance to hunt that weather really early in the season for maybe a few weeks but it always starts to cool off mid-late Sept.

I hear you W.T.F. !!! I went in the woods today in shorts and a t-shirt. I also used my ASAT suit when I got to my stand. This weather sucks!!!!! I have the last week of Archery off from work. The weather should be cooler then and the rut should be kicking in. Early season in Pa is always hot. Thats why I'm saving my time off from work for that last week! I seen only 5 Doe's tonite. I have off from work onMonday for C.Columbus day, I will only hunt in the AM!! The afternoon is to hot!!! Goodluck an be safe Boys!!!!

Congrats Ryan on a fine buck!! Please don't sweat the picture like everyone said it's fun anyways!! Well I was supossed to be gone for 10 days but we came home early from southern Illinois, It was 95 to 97 every day and the heat was killing us lugging all the stands and camera garb!! Opening morning I passed up a nice 115-120 inch 8pt. We saw bucks most every hunt but they were dinks, so we packed up Sat morning and headed up to state land farther north in ILL and we saw 9 does and an 8pt about 80 inchs we let go. Man this heat stinks!!!! Leathal I would love to trade ya?? Walt

Sorry to hear about the Illinois trip Walt !! Calling for a record high here in the burgh tomorow, only good thing about this weekend is that the Steelers and Penguins both won. Hunted saturday morning and didnt see a single deer, I dont think that I will be back out there until this heat breaks, Hey Hatchet I have my vacation scheduled for the last week of the season too and I will be heading to Ohio that week to hunt a farm that my buddy is getting me on, he said that they have been seeing a lot of nice bucks on the trail cam, have a few in the 160 range running around but I would be thrilled for something in the 130's, I hope the chase is on by then.

Sorry you had to cut your hunt short Stik! Hey W.T.F. that Ohio hunts sounds good, when do we leave!!!:DIt's so hot!! this sucks!! I went out today in the AM. I had two doe's walk off the field I was hunting. They walked into the woods 50yards away at 730am and did not move til 11;00am. The deer are not moving at all in my neck of the woods. I thinkcooler temps are on the way for the middle of the week!!! GOD I HOPE SO[:@]Ducks open up on saturday. I'm heading up north to Pike county to my Duck Honey Hole on SGL 209. Its a old quarry in the middle of the sticks that is loaded with Woodies near the Delaware river!! Ducks in the AM and Deer in the PM!! BE SAFE BOYS!!!

Anybody been out? I haven't this week, too busy getting ready for trip to SD. I have five guys going this year, 3 which have never been on an out of state bow hunt. I am pretty jacked, along with the rest of the guys.

Good luck all.

I was out quite a bit the last three or four days. I had the opportunity to take my first deer with my son (5 years old)out of a blind on Friday evening. He was very excited and it was probably one of my most rewarding hunting experiences.

Saturday I hunted my favorite stand and saw nothing. Behavior patterns have really changed since they started archery hunting on the neighboring property.

Monday I had off and spent the day inside the Trexler Preserve. I had two does walk under my stand and feed all morning but no luck with a buck. I do plan on heading out this evening again with my son in search of that elusive monster. Wouldn't it be great if I could take a nice buck with a bow while I have him along? I cannot imagine a more perfect scenario. ;)
