Arrow, dang man, you've been putting the time in, I hope one gives you a shot soon!

I scouted and moved stands both Sat and Sunday. Used the fresh snow here to find some big tracks ( all loners in some good shedding areas) and just hiked all over my hunting areas, bumped a few does. It was cool out down in the single digits Sat morning then pretty nice yesterday in the 20's.

Hunting the hardway right now, the deer sign (doe family group after family group I checked on were void of big tracks) and lack of movement tells me its rest time for most of the deer this week. Archery season opens back up again today. My best stand sites are set up right on the edges or in the middle of big "shedding" areas full of the right feed. No baiting here, gotta kill them on the natural stuff and there is miles of it. Without snow, I can't imagine trying to pick a spot.

Peace out.. I'llbe hunting this evening. I'm looking forward to cold arse weather and a chance at a big late season bruiser.

Good luck to the rest of team 43.

You and Germ should get together and check out the freezability of various broadheads... or both of you should check into a psych ward

Here you go fellas, the deer are right here in this comfortable padded wall room.

J/K I hope you guys down some real freaks. You definitely deserve it after all the time and effort. Now I am going back to sit in front of the warm fire

Germ,

Is your AD still sailing around on his yacht? Bobby Petrino at Arkansas? Dammit.

Just what we need in the SEC West, another good 2-3 million dollar coach. These are the coaches in
just the SEC West:

Miles
Petrino
Saban
Tuberville
Croom
Nutt

ACKKK. Anyway, birth is tomorrow morning (getting some last news in and had to needle you on
losing Petrino), will post pics of my pride and joy later.

Troy, at least you get an hour and a half. I get home around 4 and sunset is about 4:35 nowadays. I am just hunting weekends and holidaysthe rest of the season. Unless I take some more vacation.

I am going to IL this Saturday to see if I can fill my doe tag, and look at 85 acres of hunting property just down the road from where I hunt. It is 90% woods with 11 acres tillable. With 5 acres of that in CRP. This sounds like just what I am looking for. Gotta check it out!!

John,

Yeah, I suppose you have a point there, at least I have some time to get to a few close stands.Problem here is,most of the big boys dont hang out very close to the roads or home, it takes some hiking into the mountains to get to their hang-outs.

Good luck this weekend toeveryone hunting, my cousin is on his way today and we'll be after them the next four days.
