I saw five does Saturday. Two near the top of the ridge on my way home from my stand about noon and three in the woods behind my house as soon as I stepped out my backdoor for the afternoon hunt at 2:00 [:@] Both hunts I was setup in the creek bottoms. Guess I'm gonna be hunting up closer to the ridge. I think they are looking for the last of the acorns.

I also had a turkey come running down the hill behind me, right past my tree and off into the woods. Never stopped once. ????

Ok team 4 more days and I am offuntil 14th of Nov.

Here is what I saw

Ohh Log Splitter where have you gone, the picture does not give this track justice. I have pictures of previous years.

Gobble Gobble

A little blurred, but hanging on to the tree and camera in 30+ MPH wind is no fun

This is a big Turkey

Meet Little Jeff

This picture shows and the video will also how nutty deer are. He is looking behind me at a critter, he stared at the thing forever than stumped and blew at it.

Here a place I hunt I call the gate. Sometime Funnels are man made and work great. We logged this off 5 years ago. I have not hunted it because it went to hell. The deer are in it again finally. The deer are walking right through both logs.

Saturday after getting rained on all day the sun came out. It lit our woods up, it was magical.

It was a good weekend and I learned a ton. I have to make some adjustments. The field that was beans in not wheat field. This changes up things a lot. Means the railroad grade stand just got a whole lot better. I have to put a new stand up.

Rob,

You think they are catching on to you?

The creek bottom might not be too great for scent - swirls up to the top of both ridges. You might want
to pick a spot closer to the top of the ridge near a saddle, that way you catch them on top or right as
they start coming down. I don't know what the terrain looks like though.

It's possible LH. Here's the topo.

Yellow border of where I have permisson.
Yellow dots where I hunted Saturday.
Red dots where I encountered deer.
Top two orange dots are my next hunts. Near breaks in barb wire fence with paths. Bottom orange dot is near a path through an oak grove.

Hey guys, sounds like everyone was in the action.. I was getting ready to head out to bowhunt whitetailsSat morning at 5:40 am...and in the moonlight outside of my house I noticed a small herd of elk out feeding, so with only 1 week of rifle to shoot a bull elk on my archery tag... This week.. I decided to wait till daylight to see if I could fill the freezer with one of the two bulls in my neighbors field. At daylight, one of the bulls and 3 cows walked into my field and I busted him off the porch LMAO ... tough hunting EH! But Hey I couldnt be happier for filling the freezer with elk meat! Deetopped the weekend off with a nice 4x4 buck from our family stand behind the house.. We cut up "stretch' and I bowhunted Sunday morning too in the 4x5's area.. Saw two little bucks.. thats it..

I have the pix from the kills from our place at home.. will post tonight.....over in the B/G forum..Oh I got to test out my new hoists on that bull..he's actually really big bodied..just dink racked.. the hoists are the cats meow!!!! we had fresh burgers last night ...tested out our new 1hp meat grinder.. good good weekend for filling the freezer..

This is what makes MI tough for hunting for me in my area.

These guys are floating the river. In MI you can not shoot over someone's property. They can float up and down the river all day, but you can not shoot(Hunt). Saturday at about 9:30AM these jkoes came through. Now I keep quiet, but my eye on them until they pass by. I stop the camera because I had to say "hello" to them. They turn around and lined up for a shot on one of my buddies. The issues was I was right behind the tree he was pointed at. We said "hello"[:@]

I turned them in to the DNR. The great news is assclown in the front was missing a valuble item;) can you guess what it was, and I had the video to prove it.
