Wow nice deer and property! I will have to post a pic of a 86" (1 side) shed I found a couple years ago. Im in Mn, we get some brusiers but I not as many as in IL. Here are pics from the last two years.

Those are some awesome bucks guys! Way bigger than anything I've killed yet.:(
I started hunting the midwest 4 seasons ago in Nebraska with my buddy Jerry from Stealth Archery. I was in it to win it and passed some good bucks, bounced an arrow off the back of a giant I misjudged yardage on and had a huge non-typical at 4 yds while my bow was still on the hoist rope one afternoon.
2 trips so far to IL have also been without big buck success but not for lack of trying! Had a 150"+ 10pt at 18yds broadside 2yrs ago and couldn't get him to take the extra step, passed a couple lesser bucks and struck out and last year in IL with my good buddy Greg we had crappy weather but a great time!:D The rut in our area was non-existant but I managed to see and MISS a solid 130+ 8pt but at 37yrds. He was spooked by another hunter and when I stopped him he was wired. Just about turned inside out when the bow went off and shot where he WAS.:eek:
I'll tell ya, if I can just get one to stand frickin still in a shooting lane I'll be good to go! LOL
Those small examples is where the "Curse" originated from. I've been soooooo close on numerous trips but a branch here or a step there has kept the wall bare of any P&Y deer.:(

The best news is that Greg and I have made a pact to hunt every season in Nov together so hopefully this is our year. He has put down some great bucks so its only a matter of time.

If you guys haven't already noticed we have picked up a new member to our Team29. "Buckslayer55" was a great little guy and very enthusiastic but he was also an 11yr old little dude. ;)Buckslayer is going to participate in the Young Hunters contest which left a slot open on our team. We were lucky and fortunate enough to be drawn "Wolfen68" (Jelen) as our new teammate.
If I'm not mistaken he took the biggest buck 2 seasons ago in the entire contest with a 200+" monster.

So looking down the team we certainly have some serious firepower to bring this one home. :)

Is it time to hunt yet???? I am really getting antsy after seeing all those pics. I will have to remember to take a change of clothes with me to the stand, if I see a buck that big I just might have an accident

Well I just got an update on the bucks running around on the one parcel of land that I will be hunting. There is a 4pt and a spike frequenting that land. There is also a nice 9 pt in the area that is going to be moving a little slower as it ran into a car and broke it's leg. Hopefully I can get it in my sights and put it out of it's misery. I can't wait to get out hunting. Do we have anyone with an early season on the team??

GOOD NEWS!!
I got permission to hunt the farm!! About 400 acres, originally she said it was 200 but after talking to her husband it's 400!! I walked the trails they have cut for the tractortrying to find some stand sites on sunday.I saw a lot of sign but didn't see any old rubs, I walked tree lines, fence lines and a couple of wooded areas but no buck sign. I'll have to see how it goes the first couple of weeks and find some stand sites for the rut.
