Went to 2 different spots today, and found good sign at both. One had a small sapling completely pushed to the ground! Saw fresh tracks and good trails. The other has an oak that is dropping,with acorns munched on all around, with many more to be had.I told my employess to come in late tomorrow am--I have a date with an oak tree!I alsowent to a WMA that is archery only ,which is actually close to the house, and found some excellent sign. I am notgiving up on my main property, but I am seeking alternatives until teh poaching problem gwt sresolved. Looks like I have some definite alternatives with promise. I will stay at it, regardless. I'm off to Kentucky thursday, so maybe I can get us on the board with a good one there--in spite of the hot weather returning![:'(]

Its supposed cool down some on Wed so I may go out then. I was thinking about driving down to my grandpas farm there is some good spots for some early season bucks.

We did it, my buddy shot a huge buck. We're going to find it in the morning. Wild story, we go down to a spot where we have seen a big buck with one spike. We are sitting there and look down in the trees there is the spike, he comes about 15yrs from us. But still no big one so the wind changes, starts blowing in to the trees so we get up and start to go, look up on top of the hill and about that time he comes over the hill Bruce pulls up his gun and fires and hit him good and he ran over the hill. A storm blows in lots of rain all the blood is gone[:o] So we go back to the truck, start to go back to the house, the truck gets stuck:(:( we have no cell signal so we called my mom to come get us but had to walk 2miles to a rock road in the rain and lighting. I will post pic tomorrow if we find him.

I am leaving in the am for Kentucky--have my license and all packed. The weather is going to be hot--but hopefully they'll still be moving. HopeI can put us on the board.
