Sounds like you guys are all seeing some deer! This has got to be my worst season so far, I'm just not seeingany qualitydeer - although there is a lot of corn in around where I hunt and now that Pheasant season is opening tomorrow every deer in the area that wasn't in the corn before will be now. I have started seeing a lot of scraping and rubbing activity, but I think the majority of that is still being done at night.
Talondale that is some awesome scenery you have there, Hopefully your dad has some good luck on moving in on that big boy!

Just to show you guys how slow it has been this year, I got this pic off of the trail cam today and got excited. He is a nice young deer but only looks like a 2.5 year old - he is safe with me but will be lucky to make it through the year once the idiots withshotguns start running around. I really hope alot of the corn stays in during gun season so a few of the guys in his age class can make it through the year. Goodluck to you guys this weekend and post what your seeing, I have to work all weekend, so I'm kind of hunting through you guys for the next 3 days.

Nothing happened this weekend. I saw several deer, including a nice buck. I had a couple of does in range of my compound, not in range of my recurve. This happened Friday morning and Saturday evening. It was pretty frustrating. They were out at about 30 yds and I won't shoot that bow past 20. I've decided to put it up until I put something in the freezer.

Had a decent weekend hunting. Saw good numbers of deer, just no shooters. Last night saw 13 deer, 4 bucks, biggest maybe 120. He milled around under me for about 45 minutes munching acorns. Have to work all this week but Fri afternoon I'll be back out. Hopefully you get than big boy TN!

My Dad hunted for that big boy Friday but he didn't show. He saw a couple of does and a dog came through the area so that may be why he didn't see him. I hunted public land Saturday with some other traditional shooters and made some blind choices on stand location. Didn't see anything. I'll be hunting a wilderness area Friday and Saturday with a couple other trad shooters so I may not see anything this weekend either. It's tough hunting new-to-you public land but there's a good chanceif you see a buck it will bea nice buck , and bear and turkey will also be in season. After that I've got three weekends on some good private land honey holes. Hopefully I can connect on something soon. I'll be ready for some flat land hunting after this weekend.
This is where I'll be hunting on the wilderness area this weekend:

That is some beautiful ground Talon, have fun out there. I sometimes long for the public land back home in the UP. not for the deer size, but just the vast areas. Sucks you had a dog come through. I had a GIANT sow hog come through last night, fricken thing got loose from a neighboring property and was rooting in the woods. Their cows are also out, so who knows when they will be coming around. That piggy may get whacked, I'm pretty sure law says that after 7 days they are fair game, have to check that out though. Where exactly are you at Talon? I'm sure you've told before, btu I can't recall.

Yooper,
I moved from the beach to the mountains of Virginia. The beach was getting too crowded and I hardly made it to the surf anymore when I lived there then I do now that I don't. Now I can hunt in my back yard and go to the beach for the weekend.

Finally got some rain last night, and a hard one. If nothing else it should have knocked the foliage down a little. Still warmer than needed, but I'll take any improvements!
