It`s the same here in GA as well, "Hot and humid"[:'(]
Can`t wait for the temps to change.

Don`t fill bad! I hunted sat and sun and only seen one single doe,
I think we are having our oct-lull? Don`t know if i really believe in it but something sure is strange?
This area i was hunting this past weekend is the same area i seen over 5 deer last saturday and 9 sunday.

I calledsome of my hunting buddys ask them had they seen anything and he told me out of 6 hunters they only seen 2 deer all weekend?:eek: They also have been seeing quite few up untill last weekend. So maby for what ever reason they stopped moving? hopefully it`s over.

Passing those smaller bucks sooner are later will pay off for you.

I can take 2 buck here so i would like the second one to be a little bigger than the first one,
I am sure that i will need to pass on a few small buck myself, But if i don`t see the one i am looking for? So be it!
They will be just that much bigger next yr;).

Ok, here it goes. Went out this morning to an area I haven't hunted in a couple years, but have always taken deer from this spot. I decided to put my stand in a different tree from normal since the leaves are still pretty thick. I've got acorns falling to my left and right, breeze in my face and I'm facing the swamp. I hear walking from the small ridge behind me, I turn and see nothing but antlers. With the way he's traveling I have two small openings to put an arrow through, then nothing but branches and leaves. I draw, he's walking to the first opening 20 yards away, I grunt he passes through the opening, he comes to the second opening, I grunt, he stops and looks up at me, but vitals are blocked by the tree I normally sit in!! He catches my scent and gone. By the way, I could count 10 good points while we had a stare down. I got out of the tree around 11 and discovered scraps and rubs everywhere. Only problem with harvesting a deer from that area is dragging it out. It's just under a mile from the road, but I'll be back.

Had one come in Sat. just as I was about to climb down....was too dark to shoot, couldn't even tell if it was a buck or doe. At least cooler temps. are on the way.

Saw another buck this evening. A small 8pt. To far for a shot and I am not sure I would have shot AT him anyhow. He was with four does. Things are looking up round here.

Rain forecast for the morning. Blows the oppurtunity to video here in PA. with Rob and the boys. It looks like it should let up for the afternoon hunt. I feel good about tomorrow.....

Brother, I feel your pain!! Wish I could've got out this evening, with the rain finally ending I think it would have been a good one. Heading to Goshen Monday night to hunt Tues and Wed. Gonna try and take a few does and a big boy if he shows.

Seen a 1 1/2yr old buck yesterday across the field in the next fencerow....will start all day sits next week.

Well people will be out of touch till Nov. 12th. Going on my big trip, Il. then Oh. Hope to put a big one on the board. Gonna hunt all day everyday. I can't wait, couldn't even sleep last night. Will start hunting Thursday afternoon.

I hunted till noon today and then back out from 3:30 till dark. Not a single deer!!! I am in a spot with about 10 scrapes in it and rubs evrywhere. Someday he will show up.

Well, I went out to hunt the stand I described earlier (the one near the community scrape) and when I got to the spot it wasn't there. Some idiot stole it!!! Had the best day of the year so far. Saw my best buck yet and had him at 49 yds. Possibly a 9 point maybe score 100 or so. Nothing I did could bring him closer. He was interested in the doe in the field. I had to have my wife come get me so I would not spook them out of the field. I figure the truck in the field was better than me climbing down and walking thru them.
Other than that I saw another small 8 with him and 4 doe and two non shooters this morning. Oh yea turkeys where within 32 yds but no shot oppurtunity. Hens and poults. Actually called them back to me after they passed me the first time.
I was actually getting frustrated as I hunted the whole week and did not see anything except for a couple doe and a very small buck. Things are looking bright again. I am back in the zone!!!

I'm not doing so hot this season. I called in a nice buck Saturday morning and took the shot at 35 yards. GUTSHOT! I backed out for almost 6 hours, came back, and didn't find a thing. Went back this morning and picked up a blood trail and then it ended. I'm going out tomorrow to search the whole day and hopefully I'll find him. He wasa nice buck.

I don't know whats wrong with me this season.

Guys i thought i would share this with you. I took another buck sunday a ave-7pt after watching dogs chase deer through the area[:@]This one made his way back by my stand at 10:30am, not a bad shot on this one!

Congrats on your second buck man! Thats awesome.

I didn't go out this morning. I drove an hour to my spot and it was pouring down. I didn't even want to wait it out. Went home and got back in bed. I needed a day off.

Also, I never did find my buck. I looked hard for three days. I'm clueless and discouraged. Maybe tomorrow will be good to me.

Heading out to the Army base tomorrow and having to tough time between taking my Omega or bow. If the bow only area is open for hunting, I'll probably hunt there. Next week I'll be in the mountains ALL WEEK!!!! WOOHOO!!! ML opens there Saturday, but I'll be taking my bow too. Bro-in-law (landowner) allows one buck per season 8 pt or better. I plan on bowhunting most of the time. GL all.

Sorry to here about the buck DUC. And congrats again RTA. I'm going on another all day sit Wed. Going to be in the 20s in the morning, should stir things up. They also have an 8pt. min. where I'm going. Wind gusts to 30mph today....hope it changes.

I am still thinking of holding off for a mature deer, I held off on 2 smaller bucks last year. From what I saw on Sat. it may just be paying off.

Duc, Shake it off and move on. I have been there myself. It stinks but things will get better.

Had a pretty good day today for seeing deer, but no shots. Saw 6 different spikes, two does, a 4 pt...all in bow range and an 8 pt out of my bow range (45yard). Also, saw a doe getting chased, but couldn't tell what he was. Should be able to get back out Saturday...Good luck all

Well, I sat for 12 hrs. yesterday and seen 6 does.....no bucks, go figure. I know they're moving....just not past my stand. Had 1 old matriarc doe feeding under my stand for 20 mins., I could have smoked her but I didn't want to shoot the bait. Got plenty of meet in the freezer anyway. Well one more weekend until the orange army hits. Gonna give it another shot this weekend. Good luck to everyone else!
