Got lots of nice bucks on the areas I hunt. Just have to get in the right spot at the right time. It's day to day, have other hunters to contend with as it's all public land, can't always set up where you want to. During the rut I get up at 2am to get where I want, have an hour drive. Then I'll sit till sundown.

Hey guys, sorry it took me so long to check in. I don't get to frequent the forums as much as I used to, but I'll be in from time to time, so if you don't hear from me for a few days, don't give up on me. I've been out setting up some cameras and hopefully I have some pics to post here in a few days. Sounds like we've got a good team here. I look forward to seeing what you guys do this year. Good luck to everybody and good hunting.

Glad to have you JD, post those pictures soon.

Does the bucks we kill have to be PY? I'm not going to kill small bucks, but wasn't sure if there was a minimum?

RE: 37-OFFICIAL TEAM 37 THREAD

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I hope I can contribute to the team this year. I saw several good bucks last year and I know many of them made it through the season. So hopefully, I'll get a chance at one this year.

duc,
My season starts Oct 1st. I recently started a new business and it's taking up alot of my time. But come October, I'll be sittin in a deer stand!

Sportsfan,
You shoot whatever you want. The only requirment for this competition is that you have fun!! Enjoy your season, and shoot whatever you want. Good luck buddy.

Sorry about the late check in. Name is Jeremy Dunn 35 years old and have been bowhunting for quite a few years.

Bow hunt mostly private ground here in Iowa. Should be good this year based on the deer we are seeing and what we know was left over from last year.

Ok, heres the avatar as promised. I think it looks great. A good friend of mine, Springcaller, made this. We actually did it this past weekend. Thats me in the tree. Took a little longer than expected for those bucks to show up than we had originally planned.;):D

You guys let me know if something needs to be added or changed.

EDIT: Actually, I see something thats wacky. I'm not a southpaw. How did that happen?:D

Ducsauce, I hope your not about to release that arrow. Looks like you might be aiming a little high:D. It looks great. How about having an arrow point or broadhead at the very end of the heart rate flat line. I wish september 15th would get here soon. Kevin

I like the avatar Ducsauce very cool!I was going to say have the the flat line part maby start a little sooner but What kevin sead would be even better with the arrow bring the flat line.(imo)

RE: 37-OFFICIAL TEAM 37 THREAD

I like it. Just have the flat line a little longer like rta47 said.Hope we can shrink it down to fit. Nice work, very cool idea...

Ok guys....I'm in! Got pulled off the Alt list to replace someone who didn't check in. Too bad for him, after reading all post looks like we have a pretty good team. I've chatted with a couple of you in the past year or so.

I'm 45, my name is Mark and I live in Gloucester Va (near Williamsburg). I've been bowhunting for about 25 years, but not all of them successful. Last year was one of the more successful with 4 bow kills and 2 BP kills. Of the six, only one was a buck (7 pt) killed on public land. I have access to 1500 acres in the Virginia mountains that we are at the beginning phase of managing for trophy bucks. Last year the state gave us 50 doe tags to cull the heard and we self imposed an 8 pt or better rule. That's why I have 5 doe kills. Besides my freezer getting full, we donated most to Hunters for the Hungry. Our group only harvested 4 bucks off the property last year and have already been seeing some monsters this year.

Besides the 1500 acre tract, I hunt Fort AP Hill which has some mighty fine bucks roaming around. Plus, I put in for a draw for a Natl Wildlife Refuge hunt. That's where I shot the 7pt last year.

Season starts October 6th.

Well let me be the first to say Welcome to the team Mark! Glad to have ya!

That 1500 acres sounds sweet! maby it will produce some really nice Bucks for you guys in the next few yrs.

Way to go mark on the 7pt maby with any luck you can tag another one season we could sure use it!
Best of luck;)Btw guys my name is Terry.

Ahhh, talk about relaxation. I just let about 50 arrows fly in the backyard. If we could score a McKenzie, we'd be in the lead for this contest. The Switchback is shooting great from the ground. Last year I was practicing from the roof, but my son, the arrow chaser, joined the Navy and I'm having alittle trouble convincing my wife to pull arrows and hoist them up to me. Any ideas?

Hope everyone is remaining getting some practice in, or am I the only one who waits a before the season starts to practicing

Great job on the avatar........Got some nasty weather in no. Illinois yesterday, lots of flooding & 300,000 homes w/o power. Tons of downed trees. Skeeters are probably going to be brutal during early part of the season here.

what do you guys think

Finch 08-26-2007 09:47 PM

RE: 37-OFFICIAL TEAM 37 THREAD

That looks good too Eric but what would a complete arrow look like instead of just the broadhead bringing the flatline? But I'm not picky and could care less. ;)I appreciate you working on this for us.

Anyone else have any input? We need to get this thing going.
