Yeah the accutriggger is nice isn't it. I bought a .243 savage with the accutrigger and absolutly fell in love with it and had to go buy a .270 savage accutrigger. NIce to hear other enjoy the gun as much as I do.

I also have a 270 in the savage. I have the model 111fyack its not a pretty rifle but it works. I threw a limbsaver on it and it comes factory with the muzzle break. I can honestly say that gun has no kick to it at all. My 6mm rem is worse than the 270 is. Im headed out now to go squirrel hunting with a buddy. I want some squirrel for the crock pot.

squirrel hunting was pretty uneventful rain hampered that party. Did see a very nice buck though a wall hanger for sure. 10pt stuck out past his ears on each side a few inches i'd say he's a 20" wide buck. Very very nice buck for my area. Best part is he's right in my back yard and it's all private property and I have permission to do whatever I want on it, and no one else hunts it. I wont get there though till the 2nd week of gun season. I'm spending the first week at my hunting camp with the guys. Hopefully I can score on one there. Hope everyone is doing well.

Deerslayer,
I'm relatively familiar with the Berlin area, my buddy's wife is the librarian at Berlin High School. I hunted bear last year around New Centerville which I think is relatively close to you. I too have a Savage rifle with the accutrigger .223, I won it at a gun bash, but haven't put a round through it yet. Where's your camp at? I'll be in Wash Co for the first few days, taking my 6 year old out on Friday for a hunt.I'm hoping she can withstand the cold long enough for me to get a shot at a doe. We'll see. Good luck to everybody that's hunting already.

I got a doe this morning. Not a big one but it was still exciting. I didn't see any bucks yet. My uncle hit a big one not far from where I was hunting. I hope I can score on a nice buck soon. Good luck guys
