lol....thanx for the offer SB..i love venison.....but the ones i killed are my favorite!! i know i wont be bowhunting in rifle season. rob can vouche for what a typical PA rifle season is like on public land. lets put it this way....theres over 1 million of us out on opening day. ive treid it all..from private land that noone should be on, small woodlots, BIG 11kacre state game lands etc...i hike 2 miles back on the SGLs and all my deer come by at mach2 running from volleys of pump action rifle fire! its pretty hard to find a deer thats undisturbed in rifle season. and around home we found that driving them is the only way for us to see deer....but ill be back out with the bow after xmas. my orchard may be good to me then. ive seen some good bucks in there in the winter before i was a bow hunter...opening day theres a GOOD chance someone comes through the redbrush patch that my buck beds in that i hit with my bow...and i think im going to be in that same tree...when he gets jumped and runs through my spot the MAUSER will bark....and he WILL fall. with any luck thats how it goes....but if not ill be back out with the bow after xmas.

Well here he is. He came up through the woods south of me chasing a doe. So i grunted at them and the doe came to investigate. she looked right at me but went by then the buck saw me and was about to book it out of there and thats when i shot. about a 20 yard quartering away shot hit a little high but it rittled his lungs and he went only about 50 or 60 yards cant tell in the dark. man he weighs a ton we thought we were going to die dragging him out. well i g2g. give you guys the specs tommorrow. well i'll get him on here later at least in the morning it said i had an invalid file type. so i'll have to play around with it. i've got some homework to do.
