wow duke..thats an awesome buck!! congrats!! did you happen to score him...out of curiosity?? thats a dany!! i love the spread!! i honestly think the thickness of the woods causes bucks around here not to get wide. even our 2.5 and 3.5yr old bucks usually dont break 16-18 alot of times...thats awesome!! congrats!!

Germ, yeah I see the "spooning" effect the 1 pic gives. Justin and I were trying to imitate the Drury Bros. famous "hero pose". I give mad props to my Lone Wolf, it has made me a better hunter. I love gorilla stands too, but Lone Wolf really makes it easy to move quickly. I set the stand Monday, on a scrape line, before Thanksgiving in about 10 minutes after work. Second time sitting it and look who shows up!:D

I will be in my stand tomorrow morn,really looking forward to it.The stars are shining,cool out and expect a good frost.Hopefully something shows.

I was at a gang dinner tonight and my friend told me about a buck that was hit by a truck just a mile up the road from where I hunt.It turned out to be a big 22 point.Hanging in the guys garage.Wish I had pic but I dont know who the guy is.My friend seen it and said he is a absolute monster..I really hope he is not the guy that has been scraping in my area and tearing the poplars up[:-]

I bought some of the buck sticks(smoking sticks)to give them a try,has anyone used them or have any experience they would like to share.

Captain Mauser, Na I didn't score him. He won't score that high with those shorter tines. I usually don't get to into scoring my deer, just love to hunt the mature bucks. A shooter is a shooter to me, despite a score. 2 1/2 year old and up is good enough for me!:)

Incidently.. both my deer this year were 3 1/2 year olds. This last one possibly 4 1/2, but I believe a 3 1/2.

im not into scoring either duke...actually didnt know much about it till i got in this here contest. dandy buck though!!

tomarrows the gun season opener. not sure whose going to show up. we got a couple bucks wed like to find but we will see. got 3 in my area my farmer friend been seeing...guess i over hunted the spot..before the season they were there..and after the season they are there. hopefully in the morning they will be. one basket 8, one nice 8(one i shot im thinking) and one whopper id love to shoot. farmer said he aint gunna sit too long. hes going to sit and watch a field with his lady friend and her son. hoping to get her son his first deer. said he will be happy with a doe. but the farmer aint going to sit long. between the temps reaching 65 and the pressure in the area the bucks will be bedded quick..so the farmer is going to walk for me just like he did in bow season probably by 8am...right through the redbrush and nasty field of thorns where the deer will be layin. told him when they take off in my direction to let them go and gimme a fighting chance..we will see what happens...kinda anxious to see who shows up. im usually an all time shooter(i never kill a buck:eek:) and he said i am tomarrow...but we dont have any walkers..they all went to the mountains..but we should have people show up that will walk. we will see.....wish i could be bowhunting..well i could be...but theres no place for a bow on a deer drive..and im not going to see anything in a tree after first light...im really lookin to get a buck..ill be honest..out of my 10 deer with a gun only 2 had horns..both baby 6pts...but i wont be shootin does tomarrow. MAYBE the last drive of the day..but i doubt it...going to be too warm to be running around buying ice and finding a butcher that will take deer in the heat on the opener..hopefully one of the bucks come my way.......

gotta take sis back to school and get some sleep......ill be posting tomarrow..

keep at it guys!! sorry i wont be bow hunting.....i know some of you(cough..jeff..cough) will never forgive me for gun hunting...but theres no use takin a bow tomarrow..and i really want a buck. man i wish i got mine. i wish i could take that shot again and KNOw he was gunna duck..aim 3-4 inches lower and smoke him and not be buck hunting..but thats part of the game...im gunna shoot him dead tomarrow! or his daddy...i hope the farmer or his daughters dont kill the buck i shot. he said he was gunna shove the broadhead up my @$$ if it was still in him coz he hates butchering deer with arrows in them lol

m06, I'm with Jeff, I wish you'd be taking the bow as well for the contest sake but being a fellow PA'ian I know how the deer will be come morning. Good luck.

I'll be taking the landowner out and hopefully scoring an the Big 5, 2.5 year old that I've been watching and want taken out. I'm hoping also we don't see the 1.5 yr old 7 point I'd like to see grow. There's others he certainly can take as well.

hey guys well heres the buck my brother shot tonite. hes an 11 pointer would have been 13 but knocked last 2 on his right side off. hes bigger than mine but the deer only weighed 150#. my dad saw a nicer buck than him but missed him twice with his encore pistol. to bad indiana has a 1 buck rule.
