Well we start this weekend. I was saving up for homecoming for me and my girlfriend but due to some **** we decided to end it. So i dont know what im gona do. I get my tips from work thursday but that has to last till next thursday and my mom dont get paid till next week. Im thinking about pawning some stuff for money.

Looks like the thread got screwed up with the mods deleted a user account. The "Post Reply" button is greyed out on certain pages of the thread. I logged a ticket with the mods.

UPDATE!

I got a call from my step-dad this this evening saying that when he was out feeding the horses he saw a "monster" buck on the opposite hillside field chasing some doe. My stand is about 200 yds from this field. Hope it was the buck i've been scouting. Only a couple more days PA!

I'm back as the original jmbuckhunter. Looks like they deleted all of my postsas jmbuckhunter1. I wonder whats up with the post reply button.I went out tonight after work. Everything was perfect the wind the temp. a front was coming in but the deer forgot to show up. Maybe next time

It has gotten real cold for this time of year. We are expecting a real heavy frost tonight.Almost no wind to speak of and I just got an email that there will be a meeting at 2:30. They have exactlly 30 min to say what they have to before I walk out to my truck and and drive away for the woods. Can't wait. I think I will be giving a stand one more chance before I make a switch. I have seen deer every night I sit in it just not the right deer. This will be that last night for a week if I don't get a good one to come through. But not to fret I have plenty of others to hunt from.

Oh and welcome back jmbuckhunter. We really couldn't stand that other guy. Just kidding

Well guy's this weekend i went shooting with my old neighbor. Sighted in at 20 and 30 yards with the new rest, thanks again copper. He convinced me to switch over to Spitfire 100's. So i went and dropped the 32 bucks for a 3 pack today. Im gona go pick up my hunting license and deer tag tomorrow. But the bad part is my mom will not let me hunt on public ground by myself. So i gota find some private land. Im gona go to the people that let me hunt before and try to get there permission. If it dosnt work out ill just have to drive the hour and something to my grandmaws. But im ready for the season as of tomorrow. And the season starts this weekend.

Went out this morning and had no luck. Saw a few deer pass but nothing that I wanted to shoot. Will be back out tomorrow and Saturday.

WOW we lost a lot of posts. oh well.

Went out tonight and the grouse were all over the place tonight. Noisy little buggers. I was able to see onespike buck and he hung around for about 30 to 45 minutes. There must have been a ton of acorns that dropped and he was loving it. Had a few deer out in the food plot. The moon was high and bright.

I went out after work tonight. Sat near the oaks in the backyard. The wind kept changing directions, didn't see any deer, not really surprised with the wind. Stilllots of acorns falling.

Went out this morning. Was chilly with a slight breeze. I saw about a dozen doe but no bucks. There were 2 big bodied doe that I had my eye on but neither came within bow range. Unfortunately I had to pack it in and get to work bu 10am. But at least I got a few more hours in. This particular spot I'm hunting is over a travel route and it pretty much gets used between 5-8am everyday like clockwork. The only time I've seen a deer on this route after 9am was during the rut. Then the'll take this route back out to their feeding area in the evening between 4-8pm. I just love a predictable stand. lol

Well guys, I have filled one of my tags for this season. Doesn't count towards our contest but it's one I'm proud of. I'll post more about the hunt over in the bowhunting forum.

Alright JK way to put one on the ground.

I went out this morning to a stand I hung earlier in the week. Saw a button buck, passed on him. I think this stand will be a great one when the bucks start chasing.

JMBUCK looks like a decent piece of property.

If all goes I will be off work all this coming week in hope to score some freezer filler. 1 week in October and 2 in November and I can't wait. Work is starting to get in the way a little. Well good luck guys talk to you later.

I'll be back out again this week. Hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday evening. I really want to hunt Friday but it's our anniversary so I don't know if that's going to happen.;) They are forcasting a nice cold front to move through and they say the thermometer will be struggling to reach 50 for a high. That'll get the deer up and moving.

Well the first morning hunt of my mini vacation went good. I decide to sit ina ground blind this morning. I didn't see any deer but I had 7 real nice Toms come into about 20yds. Only 6 left the area. 23lbs gobbler with the bow. I know it isn't a deer but I had just as much fun. I also did some stand adjustment in hopes of getting a nice 9 point that snuck up on me sunday evening. Wasn't able to shoot even though he was with in 10yards from my stand. Never gave me a good shot I was happy with. Well that was my morning. By the way I have a turkey tag. It was all legal.

Congrats Copper! I've got hopes of tagging a turkey this fall if I get the chance. Our turkey season opens Oct. 28th.

I won't be back out hunting until Wednesday or Thursday. Work is getting in the way right now. [:@] But on the positive side I just fired up the grill and I'm getting ready to have some backstraps and steak from the deer I got on Saturday. [8D]

Only got out Sat. morning this weekend, It was my parents 50th Anniversary. We had a party Sat night, stayed too late then had family in town Sun., had to entertain. Plan on going after work Tues. and Wed.

Way to go on your GOBBLER Copper. I have heard a couple, but haven't seen them yet. Two turkey tags come with our deer tags for archery.

There is a big cold front hitting our area tomorrow. Highs in the 30's. Possible snow. The only draw back is it is going to be windy. I like to hear deer comong before I seen them. A little hard on a windy day. I will be going out after work tonight. With the full moon the deer movement has been a little slow at the times I have to sit. Oh by the way my little mini vacation got thrown out last night with a call from work. I found out that I have to prepare for a workers comp case that is going to court. Well one day is better then none.

23lbs 6 inch beard with 3/4 inch spurs.
Shot with the bow at 20yards.
By the way I am just over 6' and around 270lbs.
I have already been told that the bird looks small
with me behind it. No fat jokes guys.

congrats on the bird!! i plan on hunting on friday since i dont have school, and a cold front is supposed to drop the highs to only around 43* during the day. i will post a report afterwards! wish me luck. congrats again copper!

I went out tonight but only saw a coon and a few squirels. I thought it might bebetter suppose to storm tonight. Figured they might be out early. Guess i figured wrong again. Might try tomorrow after work if it is done raining.

Went out from 3:50 to about 5:45 ish. It was pouring, but the high is gona be in the 40's tomorrow, and lately its been 60-70's. I may go somewhere new with my neighbor or back to where i have been going. Have not seen a deer yet this whole season.

Well I got a doe on tuesday night. I posted the story in th bowhunting forum under "tracking a doe in the rain" I will post pics tomorrow. The pics that I have are not the best but they aren't in the garage or the back of the truck. It was raining and I was cold so I was glad to get what I got. Happy to answer questions as the before mentioned post is long and might be a little confusing. I will post a pic here to.

She was a big doe. I was also surprised that she was dry. No milk at all in her. I didn't weigh her because I was just exhausted but after hanging her to skin her out last night I would guess 130 maybe. Now it is time for to do some buck hunting. The one nice thing about tracking in the pouring rain is you don't leave much scent.

By the way guys I have a turkey breast soaking in italian dressing and a back strap with a little garlic dry rub waiting to get cooked up and ate tonight.

Went out today saw a doe an yearling. Decided to take the doe, before i saw the yearling. I went to stand up from my chair and saw the yearling i just turned in my seat, drew and let loose, rookie mistake hit about 3 inches over her back right into a tree, no deer. But a deystroyed arrow and broadhead.

I went out after work tonight and came () that close to getting another doe.I was in a neighbors yard and2 does were heading towards my shooting lane. This neighbor wants me to kill them all. They trash his garden every year.It was really windy here tonight so the deer were skittish. They would stop and look take a step or two and look and smell the air. The 1st one was just about to step into my lane when the second one must have goosed her. She jumped straight up in the air and shot across my shooting lane. Then the second one trotted across and they were gone. Saw 4 more does and young ones about 60 yds away a little later but no shots. The colder weather had them moving early.

Got in late and there were deer right where i needed them to be when i was supposed to be. GOSH SO MAD. Then saw about 5 more but they new something was up went behind me and winded me.

Well, I havent been in the woods since last Saturday. [&:] Was supposed to be back out there today but I've been fighting off a head cold all week and today my alarm went off at 4am and I never made it out of bed. Couldn't go 2 minutes without coughing or blowing my nose. Not sure when I'll be back out there again. Hopefully in a couple days after this has passed. :(
