RE: 15- Team Official Thread
Sorry I didn't post over the weekend everyone. I went up to Lake Ontario fishing for Kings w/ 3 other guys. Fishing was slow. In 12 hours of fishing we took 3 kings and had 4 come off. They were 24lb, 20lb, and I caught the small 14 lb. I'll post some pics when i get them. It was fun though. The 2 guys who caught the bigger fish had never been and never caught a salmon. They are both 21 and just getting into it. I'm sure they are hooked now. Hopefully we can get them to get their FID and take the hunter safety course and get them out next deer season.
Ontario bear hunting will be a trip of a lifetime. You should definatly have some fun up there. Bear season starts Sept. 4 here. Got a few lined up. Taking a newbie out first couple of days to see if he can arrow one. Does anyone like any of the names thrown out yet? Let's all double check, come up w/ a list of 3 or 4 and then vote on them.... i guess. I hate trying to make up unique names... Scrape Tenders Licking Branch Rut Crazed Archers |

RE: 15- Team Official Thread
I will gladly take on the role of captain if everyone is cool with it.
I really like the name Wid doe makers too. Dayna... we fished out of Henderson Harbor... I believe it about 1/2 hour north of Oswego. I just started fishing them last year. I went up twice last year and we were off... Wound up going for lakers one day and walleye another. I have to rely on charters since I do not have a boat big enough to fish the lake. I usually get up to the river for a few days too and get them there. I got a couple nice one's last year there. Never fished Eerie. Someday. |

Western Ma,
Yup that was my contest buck last year. Far as I'm concerened you'v got my vote for cap'n. wid Doe makers sounds like a decent name. I'm no good at all at that sort of thing. Team deer stickers? Buck pokers? Whatever gets picked is fine by me, I just wanna go hunting dammit. ;) Threw my back out Friday at our camp in NH & am praying I can climb a tree in 2 weeks. [:'(] |

RE: 15- Team Official Thread
dayna...we are going to Gogoma,Ontario. It is half way between Sudbury and Timmons. Evidently it is 100 miles from nothing......I'm going to hold out for a really big bear. We are there for 7 days so I will be patient.
Sorry to tell you this, but your wife is right about the 10 grand for the wedding. If you live in a city of any size, you"re looking at more like 15.......my only request was that they pick a date that did not interfer with any of my hunting dates.[:@] That may qualify me as a bad parent...HAHA We are leaving for Canada tomorrow evening. We'll go to the farm in northern Missouri tomorrow and then head for Canada Wednesday am. Hardcorehunter and Hoytgirl are also going.....should be a blast. What ever name you guys come up with is fine with me.......except the Boobs one. Talk to you when I get back. If any of you are hunting.....good luck and hunt safe. Diann |
RE: 15- Team Official Thread
Dayna... I finally got a scale this year so no more guessing but I have a chart that will help you guesstimate weight based on a chest measurement. and according to that he was 244 lbs live weight and 198 dressed. He had a 44" chest. Well I had to drag him about 30-40 yards up hill before i could dress him (he went off the prop and I had to bring him back) holey crap what a drag by my self. I will tell the whole story when I have more time, if you want to here it. Oh by the way I LOVE mass!!!
