RE: 18- Team Official Thread
welcome nctaxi. I take it you are from North Carolina?
James if I may ask, what part of Illinois are you going to hunt? That is going to be a lot of fun hitting all those states. M/Hensler, good luck in college. Predators sounds good to me. If the majority agrees, maybe someone will step forward and give us some ideas for a logo. |
RE: 18- Team Official Thread
Thanks Cougar. The first step in getting help is realizing that you have a problem, so.... My name is Greg and I am a whitetail-aholic. I live in North Carolina and am a taxidermist, part time anyway. Stoked about the season, just aquired 210 more acres bordered by 150 acres of soybeans. I already have a few great bow spots so this is just icing on the cake. Have we decided team captain? Predators is alright but it's hard to come up with any really cool logos for that. How long do we have to come up with a name? The areas I hunt don't have a lot of huge deer but there are some, so would you rather nail one early or hold out for a big one and takea chance on not getting any? I hope to help the team out as best I can.

RE: 18- Team Official Thread
Cougar Mag, I'll be hunting in Iowa, not Illinois. Although, it would be good to get down to Illinois at some point. As far as Iowa goes, I'll be hunting around the Cedar Falls area.
Welcome aboard NC. |

RE: 18- Team Official Thread
James Vee,
Thanks for the map. It's encouraging to see that the 2 counties that I do most of my hunting in have produced record book whitetails. North4 |

RE: 18- Team Official Thread
Matt,
Where is Cogan Station in PA? I learned to bowhunt in your great state when I lived and worked there in '79 - '80. Lived in Benton north of Bloomsburg and really enjoyed it. Back then, compounds were not what they are today. Had the opportunity togo to the Bowhunters Festival in Forksville a couple of times. Bought archery accessories and arrows for my BrowningNomad there. Was smitten with the archery bug thenand in fact still have the bow and some of the arrows hanging in my basement. Didn't actually take any deer with a bow back then, too naive about scent control and treestands weren't widely used. Definitelyhave all of the right equipment now and the sport is still a challenge as well as a thrill. North4 |
