Your dreams and targets don't count RD. If your going to beat Team "Dead Balls" out of the gate you need to start thinking a little bigger then the jackalopes you hunt up there in Mi.

oh little fieldmouse. you make me laugh.....and you would be surprised at the size of the "jackalopes" we can pull up here in Michigan and Indiana......

nice pics . even with out the brow tines . he still is nice.whats on those trees though?i am headed out in about an hour to check my cam to see what happened by it. i hope it turns out good. lata all..
LOL...that is peanut butter on the trees. A guy at work swore buy it. He said if I cut the ends of the cans off and screw the lid to the tree, the deer would tear it up. The only thing "tearing" it up were the cattle and the coons. Probably won't waste my time and money on that anymore.;)

I went out scouting last night with very little luck. All I found were does and fawns. I think most of the bucks are hanging tight to the corn. The crops are starting to turn though, so the farmers should be busy shortly. That should only mean better scouting and hunting. Only 32 days until we can get this thing started.

RE: 12- Team Official Thread

Guys I posted a thread about aerial photos and asked if anyone knew some good sites to find them. Have any of you ever used www.locallive.com it has some pretty sweet photos and is really user friendly. I huntnear some suburbs and you would be surprisedat the details of the birds eye view maps(i think developers use these), you can see peoples cars, dog houses, etc. This is probably old news to most of you I just thought it was pretty neat. Someone else said yahoo has really good maps but I can'tget to their sitefrom my computer.

I'm going to the archery shop near the house tonight to log in some practice time and then to my fathers to practice from a stand on the 3-d's.

Just so you guys are awaremy little girl is due Oct. 26 so I will be staying near the house for the first half of the season and might not take a buck til later(if at all). But with the good Lord willing all will go smoothly and I might be able get in some good hunts towards theend. My significant other is very understanding about hunting but I don't want to leave them hanging.

Hi New

Congrats on the good news would this be your first , don't blame ya for wanting to stay to home with a new one on the way.
I checked out that site and I think the Yahoo map's are better , I can zoom closer with that one I used it to look at my hunting area and I was surprized that I could really see where a small group of deer where bedded down.
It was really awesome.

I hope everything go well for your you and your wife , may God Bless you both.

I finally got to the yahoo map site and it does have more current images which is a huge +. Thanks for everyone thoughts on the little one and fortunately I do have a little experience thanks to her older brothers(Zachary 12, and N.J. 4) but she will be my first girl (HELP!!!!).j/j

Had an awesome time shooting with my hunting partner yesterday and I believe the Mathews is dialed in just right. I just hope it stays that way.
I also flung quite a few with my recurve (Martin Hunter) and I mean to tell you that thing is fun to shoot. I have never killed one with my recurve, butI will take it out with me a couple of times this season and hopefully break the ice.

RE: 12- Team Official Thread

What is everyone shooting for equipment?

I am shooting a Hoyt Protec, with Goldtip carbon arrows and muzzy 3 blade broadheads. I bought this bow 3 years ago and have shot 3 bucks and 3 does with it so far. It is an awesome piece of epuipment, and I think I will buy another Hoyt if I ever see the need to. There is nothing like finding a bow that is comfortable and fun to shoot. Not to mention it looks good laying across a big 'ol bucks midsection in the pictures.

Mathews LX 70#
Cobra sidewinder 5 pin
Carbon Express
Muzzy 100's and Rage 3 blade 100's

RE: 12- Team Official Thread

RD if that old relic shoots straight and put's em on the tailgate that's all that matters!! I keep my old compound (Martin Prowler) set up and tuned to shoot with fingers just in case anything happens to my Q2 or my release during season. If I go to the cabin for 3 or 4 days and my bow breaks or I lose my release(yes I've done this) I can just pull the old back up out and it's all good. I also havemy recurve but my confidence is a touch on the low side with that.

im shooting a hoyt viper tech with 100 grain muzzy 4 blades.
Q2INWHITETAILS what do you think of your trykon. i think thats my next bow after this season, it was really smooth and quiet when i shot i.t it and the tribute are up in the air right now. i cant decide but either way it will be after thisseason before i get it.

Q2INWHITETAILS 08-31-2006 03:04 PM

RE: 12- Team Official Thread

duckdog132 I love it!!! I had to get used to the roll over butI was alsocoming from shooting a Mathews which is very smooth. What sold me on it was the follow through when I released, it felt " normal " just like ( speaking of old time RD ) my GoldenEagle Hawk ( which I still Have ) it fits like a glove and for me thats important. I had my mind set on a Switchback and Rob/Pa ( my long time friend and hunting partner ) called and told me to wait and shoot the big three. Trykon, Switchback, and the Bowtech Allegience. All three were great and worth the purchase but the comfort and follow through won out. I'm shooting around 289 fps with my 27' Gold tips. Rob chose the Bowtech Allegience with the speed cams which is fast,( speed cams ) smooth to draw with a nice follow through shooting around 305fps but you have hold back tp the wall, any creeping and the bow will release forward no forgiveness in the inching up area. Our good friend tkycaller has a Switchback, again great bow smooth draw nice follow through on the lower end of the fps but it didnt have the feel for me. If or before you choose shootall three and go for the change but Duck The Trykon is SWEET.
